We love sailboats when decorating a little boy’s nursery because of their versatility and longevity. You can use sailboats to create a nautical themed nursery that is hip and modern, classic and traditional, or vintage and antique. With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, we challenged ourselves to find heart themed nursery décor that wasn’t super cheesy. Yes, we knew it might be difficult. That’s why we called it a challenge.

But, we think we succeeded and present you modern, heart themed baby room décor to decorate your sweetheart’s nursery without getting overwhelmed with sweetness.

We really like this heart themed rug by kids toy and décor designer HABA. With a contemporary olive green background and heart-shaped flowers peeking out from the sides, this rug would look super cute as a statement piece in a girl’s room or playroom.

This heart themed crib bedding by Room Magic says “wow” with its bright pinks, blues, celery green, and other colors. OK. OK. The heart crib itself does not pass our super cheesy test. But, with a plain white crib, we think this heart crib bedding with hearts spinning playfully within each other create a fun, modern pattern that is cute and unique.

In the area of wall décor, wall art, and wall decals, we found this lovely modern, gallery-wrapped heart wall hanging from Green Frog Art. Muted reds, golds, and whites create a modern yet whimsical look for your baby girl’s walls. And, Etsy seller Chickadee vinyl has some gorgeous wall decals for children’s rooms including this heart themed tree wall decal blooming with pink and white hearts (or the color of your choosing). These removable heart themed wall decals are a great way to get stylish wall decor without the permanency of paint.
