If you are a creative interior designer or you appreciate those who are, we encourage you to check out Decorati. A resource for consumers and interior designers, Decorati helps you find products, services, and inspiring ideas for modern home decorating.
For example, with Decorati you can browse professional interior designer portfolios from all over the world. You could spend hours, or even days, ogling over amazingly creative interior design work. While perusing, we found several designers from which to get inspiring decorating ideas for children’s rooms.
First is this garden themed girl’s room designed by Esther Sadowsky of Charm & Whimsy in New York City. The bedroom features a gorgeous custom flower rug, soft drapery, and pink, green, and orange room pillows, dolls, and hand painted furniture. The picket fence accented with butterfly and flower wall decals was designed to hide the radiator which makes you glad the radiator was there in the first place to inspire such a clever and beautiful decorative piece. You can’t help but be transcended into a whimsical world of color and delight.
This nautical themed boys room was designed by Lisa Cicalese McMillen of New Hope, PA. We appreciate how Ms. McMillen was able to make a small room super functional. By putting the bed under the sloping ceiling, she saves floor space. The bed itself has built-in drawers to save space for a now not-needed dresser. The sloping ceiling serves as a visual centerpiece for the room adorned with a ceiling mural of a nautical chart that is sure to soothe a little boy as he falls asleep. We also like the cozy feel of the natural-colored wicker chair and the beautiful blues woven throughout the boy’s room.
Finally, we love the modern and playful color combinations used by San Jose, CA based Studio Raynaud Interiors. Cool tones used in this lavender and aqua girl’s room are of striking contrast that precipitate calm. Lavender flowers on the aqua canopy netting envelop this little girl. Don’t miss the two-toned lavender and aqua wall paint peeking out from behind the bed. And, isn’t it amazing how a small accent like a throw pillow can pack such a punch? The whole room is just darling!
