Yes, it may be easier to decorate a beautiful nursery when you have the resources many celebrities have. But, nonetheless, you have to hand it to Lonni Paul who did an amazing job designing Tiffani Thiessen’s lavender baby girl’s room. So amazing that Thiessen and Paul turned the modern baby room style into a new line of nursery decor called PetitNest.

Thiessen and Paul met on national television when Paul designed a guest room in Tiffani’s home on HGTV. You may remember Lonni Paul as the sole female finalist from HGTV’s “Design Star”. While working together to design baby Harper’s nursery, the pair were challenged by the lack of stylish options and decided to design a high-style infant and children’s decor line themselves. They describe the result as “a unique furniture and bedding collection for infants and children that is all grown up, from a design perspective, but is firmly in touch with its ‘inner child’.”

The modern classic collection of infant and children’s room furnishings is a style we frequently discuss at weeDECOR and PetitNest executes perfectly. Gorgeous furniture is stylish, yet functional like the Noe baby furniture collection featured above. We like this collection, in particular, because the decorative accents are striking, yet not overwhelming.

In addition to modern cribs, dressers, changing tables, and gliders, PetitNest offers a chic collection of baby bedding in modern prints and colors such as lavender florals. At celebrity prices, the nursery line may be a bit steep for the rest of us, but it’s divine to look at and if you’re truly in love, maybe you can talk Grandma into chipping in.

Since PetitNest was started after Thiessen’s nursery was complete, Paul and Thiessen found other stylish decor such as the Penelope leather glider from Oilo, the eco-friendly classic crib from Oeuf, a clear plexiglas chandelier from Y Lighting and a flokati rug, curvee side table and Haitian drum table all from Serena & Lily. The nursery was painted with eco-friendly, VOC-free lavender wall paint to pull it all together and make it eco-friendly to boot.

They know how to do a lot of things well in Texas and decorating little girls’ rooms is one of them. Texas mom and 7 year old daughter Audrey put together this pretty lavender girl’s room that shines! Mom tells weeDECOR, “I’m emailing you photos of my daughter’s room which turned out beautifully thanks to the piece I bought from weeDECOR! We love it!”

The decorating project started when Audrey wanted a “big girl room” in her favorite shade of violet that could grow with her for several years. So, mom got to work with some super creative decorating ideas and lovely handmade finishing touches.

Mom shares, “The polka dot bedding set and curtains are made by JoJo Designs in the theme of ‘Mod Dots’ polka dot design in purple and brown. Most accessories including the lamp, pillow, purple finials and tie-backs, etc. are from Target’s Circo Collection.”

Now, here’s where mom’s creativity comes in to play. She explains, “The furniture is actually MY OWN childhood furniture purchased by my parents in 1977 which I lovingly refinished entirely in white – including new hardware, paint, etc. It was made by Bassett. The mirror over her dresser is an antique which used to be gold and I redid in a shabby/distressed white.”

We inquired about her lovely wall hangings and Mom divulged, “Yes, I actually made the picture frame collage / wall hanging myself comprised of Disney Princess pictures and a picture of my daughter dressed as Cinderella. The idea was that the wall hangings can grow with her and as she grows. For example, the princess photos will be changed out to pictures of her with friends, cheerleading, etc. I used violet, faux-leather in different lengths and secured them over a white wrought iron bar attached to violet faux-leather covered frames.”

“Lastly, the perfect accent paint we chose to compliment her décor was Valspar eggshell in “Purpling Dawn” that I purchased at Lowe’s. We topped it off with a white ceiling fan along with your BEAUTIFUL weeDecor polka dot personalized wall decal which matched the Mod Dots theme PERFECTLY and voila!

Brianna's Personalized Owl Wall Decor with Butterflies

How calming is it to be surrounded with colorful butterflies and flying little birds as if nestled in a serene, beautiful garden? This is exactly how we felt the moment we saw Brianna’s nursery – thanks to our mom from the San Francisco Bay Area.

Brianna’s mom used our classic tree wall decal in rich chocolate brown as the highlight of her nursery and placed it just over the changing table providing the nice illusion of nature and sitting under a tree. Our standing bird wall decals in yellow and purple were also used to complete the visual, painting an inanimate picture of a beautiful garden on a nice day.

To further accessorize the tree, Brianna’s mom added weeDECOR’s owl wall decals in purple perfectly complementing the wall paint of the nursery. The two-toned wall paint in pale pink and lavender in harmony with the purple owl wall decals set the cozy and serene ambiance of Brianna’s nursery. The paint is from Disney’s line at Home Depot (“Hopeful” and “One Enchanted Evening”).

Embellishing the theme of Brianna’s nursery are our heart butterfly wall decals in pink. Like a mom’s abundant love for her child, this San Francisco mom filled her baby’s walls with heart-shaped butterflies in pale pink and green accents, bringing nature to the baby’s room.

Watching over Brianna’s crib is our personalized owl wall decal in pale pink with classic type style. The owl sits perfectly still in a tree branch surrounded with birds and butterflies overlooking the crib.

The crib bedding, the pretty polka dot rug and the clock used to accessorize the nursery were all from Pottery Barn Kids while the chair is from Babies r Us – all perfectly color coordinated to match and complement each other. And, mom added cherry wood furniture from Costco to give balance to the softer colors in the room.

A Creative Take on weeDECOR's Butterfly Wall Decals

Owl Picture: Decorative Contribution from Big Sister

We were psyched to help this Massachusetts mom with her owl and nature themed, lavender nursery for baby girl Jenna. And, it looks like Jenna is very happy with it as well. Mom tells us, “My one year old loves her tree and little friends. We say goodnight to everyone each night before bed.” We love those smiles!

To get this lovely lavender look, mom started with Benjamin Moore’s Beach Plum lavender paint. She then purchased a variety of weeDECOR wall decals to embellish and create Jenna’s nature scene.

She decorated with our personalized owl branch wall decal in lavender and our smiley type style above the white crib. To decorate the rest of the room, she chose our classic tree wall decal in chocolate brown which adds nice contrast to the soft lavender and white accessorized room. She added weeDECOR’s butterfly wall decals, bird wall decals, owl wall decals, and a sweet baby turtle wall decal.

We love the angled picture frame collage she designed with our butterfly wall decals and a few family photos in silver frames. Precious!

Mom tells us, “I have received so many compliments and people always think it is paint – they can’t believe they are decals. They really are beautiful quality.”

For the finishing touches, mom chose an owl throw pillow and green butterfly lamp from Target. But, we must admit, the owl picture done by Jenna’s 7 year old obviously artistically-inclined sister is the true star of this show.

Inspiring lavender nursery decor

We love lavender and continually seek inspiring ways to use it in decorating girls’ rooms.  This lovely lavender nursery was featured as one of Cookie magazine’s best nurseries in a recent issue.  In this baby girl room, the lavender wall paint envelopes the room creating a soft glow off of the white crib and baby furniture.  It just goes to show how powerful the right shade of wall paint can be in setting the tone for a room.

The lavender throw pillow accent is particularly satisfying and would look beautiful set upon a cream colored glider.  The alphabet wall hanging (half hidden in the photo) brings out some other pastels in blue and yellow.

Though this room is decorated with white baby furniture and accents, lavender wall paint is so versatile that it would be just as lovely with espresso or natural-stained wood furniture.  And, the vintage rocking horse brings the nostalgia that we seek in the place we call home.

Lavender Nursery to Decorate a Baby Girl's Room

Lovely lavender is the newest color in baby girl nursery decor and what lovely lavender we have here!  Though lavendar is the primary color, white and celery green have been used to accentuate the room.  The floral motif adds the playfulness we love and is of  modern style.  The wall decor is an especially powerful decorative element with what looks to be flower wall decals.  The flowers burst from the wall like a spring garden.

The baby crib bedding was designed by Glenna Jean and the 4 piece set is for sale at Cuddle Kids Bedding Boutique for $223.  You can purchase additional items such as valence, throw pillows, mobile and diaper stacker to complete the room.

The wall paint color is not specified but check our recommended low and no VOC brands of paint for colors that are nursery safe.
