The Hope Crib in Pink in Baby Ali's Nursery

We have always been huge fans of the work of Little Crown Interiors and this celebrity nursery is no different. Well, it’s a little different in that Naomi and Gerri, the founders of Little Crown were hired by Muhammad Ali’s daughter, Laila, to decorate her daughter Sydney’s nursery. How exciting!

You can read more about the project on Project Nursery, but we thought we would share the highlights.

We love that this nursery features the Hope Crib. As you may recall from one of our earlier posts, Little Crown Interiors in conjunction with Southern California based luxury furniture maker, Newport Cottages, developed the Hope Crib to support breast cancer research. Each Hope Crib comes with a custom plaque for the owners to inscribe a sentiment of their choosing; on Sydney’s, the inscription reads, “Unconditionally Loved and Eternally Blessed.”

To adorn the crib, Little Crown chose an organic Naturalmat mattress and custom crib bedding by Carousel Designs.  Above the crib features breathtaking custom artwork piece from Art.com – a large photo of Muhammad Ali holding his infant daughter Laila, stretched onto canvas, a very personal element and a key focal point in the room. On each side of the stretched canvas are matching mirrors by Pottery Barn Kids.

The nursery glider and coordinating ottoman were made by SPI Baby and the Newport Cottages toy box was custom painted to match Laila Ali’s nursery color scheme.

Brianna's Personalized Owl Wall Decor with Butterflies

How calming is it to be surrounded with colorful butterflies and flying little birds as if nestled in a serene, beautiful garden? This is exactly how we felt the moment we saw Brianna’s nursery – thanks to our mom from the San Francisco Bay Area.

Brianna’s mom used our classic tree wall decal in rich chocolate brown as the highlight of her nursery and placed it just over the changing table providing the nice illusion of nature and sitting under a tree. Our standing bird wall decals in yellow and purple were also used to complete the visual, painting an inanimate picture of a beautiful garden on a nice day.

To further accessorize the tree, Brianna’s mom added weeDECOR’s owl wall decals in purple perfectly complementing the wall paint of the nursery. The two-toned wall paint in pale pink and lavender in harmony with the purple owl wall decals set the cozy and serene ambiance of Brianna’s nursery. The paint is from Disney’s line at Home Depot (“Hopeful” and “One Enchanted Evening”).

Embellishing the theme of Brianna’s nursery are our heart butterfly wall decals in pink. Like a mom’s abundant love for her child, this San Francisco mom filled her baby’s walls with heart-shaped butterflies in pale pink and green accents, bringing nature to the baby’s room.

Watching over Brianna’s crib is our personalized owl wall decal in pale pink with classic type style. The owl sits perfectly still in a tree branch surrounded with birds and butterflies overlooking the crib.

The crib bedding, the pretty polka dot rug and the clock used to accessorize the nursery were all from Pottery Barn Kids while the chair is from Babies r Us – all perfectly color coordinated to match and complement each other. And, mom added cherry wood furniture from Costco to give balance to the softer colors in the room.

This gorgeous pink owl themed nursery featuring weeDECOR eco-friendly wall decals was designed involving the creativity of the whole family. How fun!

Big thanks to this Jacksonville, FL family for sending their photos of their baby girl’s room and for sharing their decorating secrets.

The family started with neutral wall paint called “Coconut Milk” by Valspar (sold at Lowe’s). The neutral color helped set the stage for the gorgeous collection of pink, brown, and white colors and the variety of textures used in the room.

Mom then purchased the charmingly simple Kendall crib from Pottery Barn Kids. She made the baby bedding including the bumper, crib skirt and blankets from fabric purchased at JoAnn Fabrics. She chose a combination of flannel, chenille, and minky fabrics to add extra texture and softness. Dad and grandpa made the leaning white shelves, an addition to the room that will serve both form and function with cute pink storage baskets and other decorative accents.

The pink owl pillow peeking out from within the crib and the luscious bubble gum area rug underfoot add delicious color and fun.

The brown recliner-rocker is from La-Z-Boy (called “Pinnacle”) and is made of dark brown leather. This helps bring some gravity to the nursery and pulls together the browns from the bedding and the owl wall decals.

Speaking of owl wall stickers, mom decorated her baby room walls with our modern owl, our polka dot owl, and our girl owl wall decal in shades of pale pink, bright pink, and brown. She purchased the white tree from Modern Wall Graphics.

Looking for ideas for decorating your baby girl’s nursery? The bird table lamp is made of white paper mache with two birds perched on a lucite base. The pink throw pillow can be personalized with your baby girl’s initial and is a wonderful baby shower gift for mom-to-be.

For a bit of personality, we love this bitty baby stuffed rabbit by Etsy seller RabbitRabbitSofties. And, of course, weeDECOR nursery wall decals are a fabulous way to add whimsy and fun to your pink nursery decor. This inspiration board features our nature wall decal mural in pink, our flying birds in pink, and our pink modern flower garden wall decals.

We love the curvature of this table & chair set from Restoration Hardware Baby & Child. A nightstand with similar lines would be a delightful decorative accent for your classic or vintage pink nursery.

You can’t go wrong with the Oeuf Classic Crib. This stylish modern crib is sure to be a classic for years to come.

Finally, if you are striving for a modern pink nursery, bring in coordinating paint in shades of grey or mocha. The above wall paint shades from Behr from left to right are: Simple Silhouette & Granite Boulder & Sterling & Lunar Light. These neutral colors can tone down a too-cutesy, pink baby girl room and bring in that modern feel.

A Minnesota mom just sent photos of her pink and brown animal themed nursery for her baby girl Lily and we couldn’t wait to share!

Because wallpaper can be a pain in the neck to put up and take down, wall paint has become the preferred decorating solution to add liveliness and color to a room.  It has encouraged creativity in selecting shades, styles, and palettes to get a one-of-a-kind look.  Here is a perfect example of how all of these elements can help you create a fun girl’s room with painted horizontal stripes.

Designed by Diane Hughes, Barbara Vaughn and painted by Eric Karl Anderson, this room was decorated for the York Show House in Maine and published by Better Homes and Gardens.  The room was designed with gorgeous shades of pink painted in thick horizontal stripes throughout these little girls’ bedroom.

What makes this room work so well is the modern wide stripes in classic colors of pink wall paint juxtaposed against romantic styled white furniture and decor.  The rounded corners on the bed and dresser soften the angularity of the stripes.  In particular, the white round wall mirror looks stunning on the wall.  And, the white wicker furniture adds to the coziness of the room.  How fun!

Pink Damask Bedding and Striped Wall Paint

Classic Pink Decor with Candy Striped Walls

Yes, there is so much pink in girls’ room decorating.  But, that is simply because it is so fun and such a versatile color with which to decorate.  These three delicious decor sets from luxury kid’s room and baby nursery decor retailer Rosenberry Rooms inspired our article title – or maybe it was the thought of holiday sweets .  Either way, you cannot go wrong with these sweet as candy pink decor sets!

We love damask as a way to bring a classic look to a kid’s bedroom.  But, in order for it not to feel so heavy, a bright color is needed.  That is why we love this damask print bedding highlighted with green, pink, and white candy striped bed skirt and accent pillows.  The pink and white striped wall paint is easy to recreate with a little tape on the wall and a steady hand.  Put the icing on the cake with a few hanging wall letters or wall decals and a candy striped rug.

If you prefer something a bit more classic, consider toning down the colors with a soft gray or toning down the patterns with a classic rose pattern as is featured in the second decor set above in the chair and rug.  The pink bedding set is by Oopsy Daisy (known for their children’s wall art) and New Arrival’s Inc.  The vertical candy striped wall helps bring height to the space which is helpful given the wide dresser and bed in the room.
