Turtles and Owls and Whales, Oh My!

We can’t get enough of these adorable rooms! Moms and dads across the country are using weeDECOR wall stickers as part of their animal-themed nurseries and kids’ rooms, and we have some great photos that show how to adorn your walls with animal friends.

Look at these turtles strut their stuff! A New York mom tells us, “I decided on turtle theme because I love turtles and found these colored turtle wall decals from weeDECOR that were perfect. The bedding from Pottery Barn Kids came with a turtle fitted sheet. The colors of the bedding matched the decals I purchased! Fabulous!”

It IS fabulous! Wow! The Today’s Baby Augusta Elite Convertible Crib in cherry finish has clean lines that add to the contemporary feel of the room. We love how the bold colors of the turtles pop against a sky blue backdrop. This mom decided to run the turtle parade in a continuous loop along all four walls of the nursery. Too, too cute!

A mom in Kansas discovered how to use weeDECOR wall decals to embellish the walls of her daughter’s playrooom. The towering tree graces one wall, and other pieces were used to embellish those fabulous alphabet flash cards by Mark Fisher. Mom used a clever combination of string and clothespins to display the alphabet in a unique way that minimizes wall damage. With some savvy use of everyday household items and wall-friendly decals from weeDECOR, she is sure to get back that coveted security deposit!

This mom found the perfect embellishment to her crib bedding in our friendly whale wall stickers.

A Brooklyn mom found the most amazing accents to decorate her baby boys’ nursery. She writes, “As soon as we found out we were having a boy we knew we wanted to embrace everything BLUE! It first started off with finding the perfect bedding…we’ve always been fans of Pottery Barn Kids so it was love at first sight when we saw the JACKSON themed bedding set!”

We share her love of whales! There is something so charming about them when used in nursery decor. And what little one is fascinated by undersea creatures?

Once mom and dad decided on the bedding and furniture, it was time to find some cute embellishments to complete her nursery. Mom explains, “The cute chubby whales were so lovable that we went all out! We paired the Jackson bedding with their (Pottery Barn’s) whale mobile and whale wicker toy basket. The last and finishing touch was finding whale decals. Your store had exactly what we imagined. We got the large whale in matte navy and the small whales in light blue. It is truly the perfect finishing touch. Everyone that has seen our set up loves the whale themed look! Thanks for giving us “icing on the cake” for our crib set!”

We couldn’t be prouder to be a part of this room. The whale wall decals look fabulous above the crib, and the colors are an exact match! It sounds like these parents had a whale of a time creating an incredible nursery. Great job!

Clever Storage Solutions in an Aqua Baby Room

Sometimes, you look at a room and are in awe of the creativity of the designer. We think this aqua and yellow nursery is one of those rooms. We were delighted to help this Canadian mom decorate her baby room and were even more delighted that she was willing to share her decorating secrets with our readers. She told us, “I would LOVE if you could include my nursery pictures on your blog…the blog was SO helpful to me when I was deciding how to design my space. I would love to be a part of it!” We’re so glad! Now, on to mom’s secrets…

She shares, “Since I didn’t know the gender of the baby, I had to stick with a gender neutral theme so I thought the tree wall decal with the owls would be appropriate. The paint color on the walls is Benjamin Moore Palladian Blue and the ceiling is painted a light sunshine yellow color, Benjamin Moore Vellum.”

She further describes, “The baby bedding is from a company called Sweet Kyla and is called ‘Cabana’. The crib is a Stork craft crib (Madison Stages) and I decided to paint the front of the drawers on the change table the same color as the walls.” We love those drawers!

“The dresser was my baby dresser, so it’s over 30 years old. It was refinished and painted white and the drawers, too, were also painted the same color as the walls. I added crystal knobs to the dresser as well as change table drawer,” she finishes.

Finally, mom says, “I wanted to thank you for your helpfulness and professionalism. My husband and I LOVE the wall decals and we loved putting them together. I will certainly recommend your company to my family and friends. It was a great experience!”

We couldn’t be more pleased with the results ourselves.

There was a decorating party and you’re invited to peek! See how this clever New York mom and dad decorated their baby boy’s room with some of the cutest animal themed nursery décor around.

Mom and dad prepared for their baby room decorating animal party with Iced Cube Silver Wall Paint by Benjamin Moore. This gorgeous blue nursery wall paint set a soft, but powerful tone for the other invitees.

Serena & Lily brought life to the party with their fabulous orange and blue animal themed crib bedding. Called “Ben”, this animal themed bedding is a modern take on the traditional animal theme. The cool blue and the warm orange bring that modern juxtaposition of color and playfulness that we love. Bellini joined with their chic and modern nursery furniture such as the modern white crib and changing table. Giggle, also, wasn’t to be missed. They came in with a fun giraffe lamp in that playful orange again perched right on the changing table. So, cute!

Finally, we brought our playful animal wall decals as the highlight of the nursery’s wall décor and helped to put the finishing touches on the baby’s room. Mom and dad playfully applied our modern elephant, giraffe, and lion in a row that aligns perfectly with their safari themed bedding. Clever! Above the changing table, they hung our hanging monkey wall decal and upside down monkey wall decal holding his yummy banana. You can bet that their baby boy will ooh and ahh over these cuties!

Above the window, mom and dad applied our blue modern elephant wall decal, our cute turtle wall decal in orange, and our navy blue lion wall decal to add a little bit of flair to their window dressing in addition to the cute animal ornaments hanging from the shade pull.

Isn’t baby Audrey a lucky little girl? Her mom has an eye for design as you can see with this elegant pink and grey elephant themed nursery.

To get this look, this Pennsylvania couple started decorating their baby’s room with a pretty shade of pale grey wall paint. Called “Sweet Innocence” by Benjamin Moore, we are in awe of how this shade of grey screams “elegance” just perfectly. The slightly muted shade of paint allows the bright white and pale pink accents to dance off the wall.

For her crib, mom chose Restoration Hardware Baby & Child’s pink and grey baby bedding. Notice how the pretty pink, grey and white striped sheets and grey crib skirt add that touch of detail and elegance mom? The decadently pink curtains in the nursery are also from Restoration Hardware Baby & Child.

For other elegant decorative accents, mom got creative with ceiling décor by hanging a faux white chandelier from Urban Outfitters. Cleverly, mom and dad covered the cord with the grey and white damask fabric that covers the white glider. Ah, damask – another small but powerful detail that brings elegance to the baby’s room!

Finally, for wall décor, mom chose our personalized elephant parade wall decal in grey and pale pink spelling baby Audrey’s name in our classic type style. She also decorated with a towering white tree wall decal (not seen in the photo) to bring in a bit more playfulness as well as a pink and grey stuffed baby elephant strategically placed on the end table.

Baby Abigail from Massachusetts is a lucky little girl. Mom used our wall decals to decorate her animal themed nursery. Using a combination of pinks, purples, yellows, and greens and a wide variety of animal motifs, mom designed a fabulously fun baby girl nursery.

We love how the blue painted walls envelop her baby’s room like a sky at dusk.

Mom purchased many of our wall decals including our large classic tree wall decal in brown which she embellished with our pink polka dot owl wall decal and our green boy owl wall decal. She included a bright pink giraffe wall decal at the foot of the tree.

Note above the glider sits our bird on a branch wall decal in bright pink. We bet those two little birds smile sweetly down at mom while she’s nursing baby Abigail.

Over her changing table, mom decorated with our heart butterflies in pink and purple and our polka dot butterflies in yellow and green. So cute! She placed sweet flying bird wall decals above the crib in yellow, lavender, and bright pink. They look so sweet flying through the sky.

Mom’s animal themed baby bedding and changing table cover is called “Morning Zoo” from Land of Nod and features pink and green elephants, hippos, alligators, giraffes, and birds. The crib bedding set also comes in a pretty blue and green.

A Pink Baby Girl Owl Nursery with weeDECOR Owl Wall Decals

This gorgeous pink owl themed nursery featuring weeDECOR eco-friendly wall decals was designed involving the creativity of the whole family. How fun!

Big thanks to this Jacksonville, FL family for sending their photos of their baby girl’s room and for sharing their decorating secrets.

The family started with neutral wall paint called “Coconut Milk” by Valspar (sold at Lowe’s). The neutral color helped set the stage for the gorgeous collection of pink, brown, and white colors and the variety of textures used in the room.

Mom then purchased the charmingly simple Kendall crib from Pottery Barn Kids. She made the baby bedding including the bumper, crib skirt and blankets from fabric purchased at JoAnn Fabrics. She chose a combination of flannel, chenille, and minky fabrics to add extra texture and softness. Dad and grandpa made the leaning white shelves, an addition to the room that will serve both form and function with cute pink storage baskets and other decorative accents.

The pink owl pillow peeking out from within the crib and the luscious bubble gum area rug underfoot add delicious color and fun.

The brown recliner-rocker is from La-Z-Boy (called “Pinnacle”) and is made of dark brown leather. This helps bring some gravity to the nursery and pulls together the browns from the bedding and the owl wall decals.

Speaking of owl wall stickers, mom decorated her baby room walls with our modern owl, our polka dot owl, and our girl owl wall decal in shades of pale pink, bright pink, and brown. She purchased the white tree from Modern Wall Graphics.
