Out of This World Space Themed Kids’ and Babies’ Rooms

These space themed baby rooms are out of this world in our earthly opinion and we’re pretty sure you’ll agree. Who wouldn’t be inspired by beautiful hues of blue enveloping your little boy as he nods off to dreamland. We found these three inspiring designs and had to share!

Dwell Studio's New Space Themed Baby Bedding

Dwell Studio's New Space Themed Baby Bedding

The first is from high class designer Dwell Studio. We love Dwell for all of their modern takes on traditional baby room decor. Dwell’s space themed baby bedding called “Galaxy” uses soft greys as a way to make the theme more for modern times. Leveraging an illustration motif, stars, planets and rockets adorn their soft sheets and blankets. You can even purchase matching changing pad cover, blankets, as well as baby accessories like hooded towels, sleep bags, and burp cloths if you really want to go wild.

Jack's Space Themed Nursery on Project Nursery

Jack's Space Themed Nursery on Project Nursery

The second nursery (found on Project Nursery) was designed by a DIY mom who drew and painted the space wall mural to match her son’s bedding (Target’s Space Themed Bedding also by Dwell). She got the letters for his name at Michael’s and also painted them herself. We especially like how the lime green pops against the deep navy blue wall paint. Lucky, Jack!

A Modern Take on a Space Themed Kids Room

A Modern Take on a Space Themed Kids Room

Finally, this space themed boy’s room caught our eye. While the wall mural is powerful, we were also struck by the subtly of the rest of the decor – the soft blue star boys bedding and curtains, the small round moon rug, and the earth wall hanging above the bed.

We Ooh and Ah Over These Unique Baby Mobiles for Your Nursery

Lately baby mobiles have come back into vogue and there are so many unique takes that we wanted to share a few of our favorites that we think would look super cute with some of our most popular wall decals. However, be sure to keep the mobile well beyond baby’s reach as you do not want her to pull it down upon herself.

Baby Mobile for an Under the Sea Themed Nursery

We Under the Sea is a lovely theme as you can take it in many directions. Above is a more modern take on a baby mobile that incorporates an ocean themed nursery with a more modern bent. We love how the designer, JennaEBe13 on Etsy, used varying shades of blue to help create the sensation of the sea. To complete your themed nursery look, check out our Under the Sea wall decals. We have dolphins, octopus, fish, seaweed and more in a variety of colors and styles.

Baby Mobile for a Safari Themed Nursery

Baby Mobile for a Safari Themed Nursery

We would be remiss if we did not include a safari mobile for a classic jungle themed nursery, also from an Etsy designer. Designer CarrotFever aptly describes the mobile as inspired by simple Swedish design and her love for animals. A cute giraffe, monkey, zebra, lion, crocodile, and a tree with cute little falling leaves hang from cotton thread above your little one’s crib. Even better, her mobile animals are made from eco felt and stuffed firmly with premium poly fiber filling. We have some sweet jungle wall decals to go with this theme, too.

Baby Mobile for an Alligator Themed Nursery

Baby Mobile for an Alligator Themed Nursery

A modern take on the jungle theme is to choose just one animal. And, believe it or not, the alligator can be an awfully cute animal to design a nursery around. We like the uniqueness of this alligator baby mobile created by blogger Mrs. Meyers Musings. The lime green and navy blue color combo helps spice up traditional green. weeDECOR also has an alligator wall decal in a modern design aesthetic.

Brown and Pink Damask Nursery by Girl Inspired

Pale Pink and Brown Classic Nursery

Pale Pink and Brown Classic Nursery by the Girl Inspired

We always “ooh” and “ah” when we see a nursery decorated with damask and this nursery is no different. Check out the Girl Inspired’s Brown and Pink Damask Nursery designed by Girl Inspired herself. We love the use of the damask wallpaper on an accent wall. It brings such depth to the room without overwhelming the space.

Girl Inspired left no stone unturned when it came to using her space and the decorative elements to its utmost potential. The delicate touches are all here – classic espresso chocolate furniture and shelves, a hanging mobile of bird’s on a branch, a nursery glider in a pale pink toile print, fabric wall letters on the shelves, and more. Woven storage baskets tuck neatly in their cubbies, a crystal chandelier hangs elegantly from the ceiling, a soft lamb pillow chair is placed under the window, and nostalgic knick-knacks of jewelry boxes, piggy banks, and picture frames sit on shelves to make the room feel cozy and warm. It’s hard not too “ooh” and “ah”.

Who is the Girl Inspired you ask and where can you see more? Check out her lovely design-oriented blog for ideas on crafts, sewing and more.

Oh! The Places Baby Will Dream of Going in His Travel Themed Nursery

Travel has always served as a source of inspiration for those of us at weeDECOR. And, our love of travel is reflected in the designs we offer. Of course, we’re not the only ones who want to pass our love of travel onto our children. Check out these travel inspired baby rooms designed by moms and moms-to-be like you!

Mom and photographer Kristine Neely was inspired by the Dr. Seuss book “Oh The Places You’ll Go”.  And, what an inspiration it is! The soft blue paint tone (Benjamin Moore’s Waterfall) make you feel as if you could be in a plane to anywhere traveling across a pale blue sky. We love the vintage suitcases that serve as a nightstand and the map and globe accents around the room. Breathtaking!

Dr. Seuss Travel Nursery - Kristine Neely

Speaking of vintage, Kristine also photographed this vintage airplane nursery in NYC. Dark wood furniture brings that more classic vintage feel along with vintage model airplanes used as accents. We like how cleverly a vintage airplane duvet cover was turned into curtains and how vintage postcards were pinned on a board to create a stunning collage.

For a more modern look, we found this travel themed nursery in aqua and orange on theBump. The blow-up globes are a creative way to bring in themed décor that is both functional and delightful. For a touch of nostalgia, one wall is a collage of maps of places the couple had traveled to and countries from which their ancestors came.

We go Bah-Bah over Sheep Nursery Décor

One of the sweetest classic themes in nursery décor is the quintessential little lamb. So classic. So perfect for your little one. We just couldn’t help taking notice of so many beautiful baby nurseries incorporating this theme!

Aside from being simple and sweet, we appreciate the gender and color neutrality the sheep design element brings to a baby’s room. Since most sheep come in white, you can add almost any accent color of your liking.

For example, see this lovely grey and white sheep themed nursery designed for Charlotte in Austin, TX. The rich, elegant furnishings from Restoration Hardware Baby and Child bring a classic touch to a relatively modern color scheme.

For a bolder look, consider black and white sheep décor as highlighted by Joni Lay on BHG.com. Bold, black accents such as the lamp and dresser shown in this inspiration board can make quite an impact. And, babies are attracted to high contrast colors which make this nursery that much more attractive.

For a softer, more classic look, see how entertaining and lifestyle expert Jenny Steffens Hobick used pale blue and classic lamb décor from Pottery Barn Kids to decorate her lamb themed baby room. We especially like the lamb rocker—just darling!

And, weeDECOR has several sheep wall decal designs to help augment your nursery décor. Our jumping sheep wall decal has three little sheep jumping over fences onto blades of grass. We also have a personalized sheep decal to make your baby’s nursery feel even more unique.
