Designing an alphabet themed nursery is almost as easy as 1-2-3, or make that a-b-c. See a few of our favorites to get decorating ideas for colors, styles, and coordinating accessories for the a-b-c baby room of your d-r-e-a-m-s.

We love this chocolate brown and pink alphabet themed baby room with a ceiling alphabet border. This creative mom designed and created the wall décor herself with the goal of using her alphabet décor as a learning tool for when baby girl Sophia is older. We love how she included the the circle motif which adds just the right touch of whimsy to the room and softens the lines of the border. And, those pale pink drapes are stunning!

Another creative way to use the alphabet motif in your nursery decorating is to to apply an alphabet border above a chair rail like this Rate-My-Space mom did in her baby boy’s blue and green nursery. She found these animal cards, which spurred her creative juices. She painted the blue and green stripes and then installed a chair rail upon which the animal parade could prance along the wall. So cute!  We also love the blue drawer knobs which help pull the striking blue, green, and white color palette together.

This orange and white nursery designed by Johann Gomez delivers a lot of “wow”. We love the retro colors of this orange and white, vintage alphabet nursery and the soft curves of the vintage décor. John created an alphabet wall mural with gorgeously ornate frames that work perfectly with the clean lines of baby’s modern white crib and a plush shag rug. Finally, for apartment dwellers and other nursery decorators looking to keep it easy, a simple piece of alphabet wall art sitting on a shelf may be the perfect way to incorporate an alphabet theme into your nursery design. Though shown with pink bedding, this nursery can easily be made gender neutral due to its stylishly simple touches. This San Francisco mom used a color palette of soft greys, yellows, and creams which is perfect for a light feeling baby room that works on its own or to which you can add bold accents for more pop. Another great piece of baby wall decor from Name Your Design. We love the modern fonts and color palette of this printed canvas piece, perfect for an alphabet themed nursery.  The lime green, orange, and bright blue, and light pink will work well with many of the baby bedding and fabric colorways in today’s nursery decor.

We really like the alphabet nursery theme because it serves an educational purpose as well.  In his earlier years, the colors and shapes will grab his attention.  And, as he gets older, he will be riddling off his abc’s with the help of this beautiful piece of wall art and be able to see how his name is spelled as he begins to write.  And, it works for both boy and girl rooms.

If you are seeking modern inspiration on the classic alphabet nursery theme, you can find it here. Designed by Migi girls Michele Adams and Gia Russo and sold by a great little site called Little Urbanites, this sky blue alphabet baby decor brings a modern feel to this classic nursery theme.

The baby bedding design includes all of today’s fun baby patterns and themes – polka dots, animals, and letters – and brings it together in a sensical aesthetic that is quite pleasing to the eye.  Light sky blue is the primary color accented by orange, yellow, and olive green.  The four piece set sells for $180 and comes with comforter, bumper, fitted crib sheet, and crib skirt.

The wall decor is gorgeous.  We love the idea of two-tones of wall paint adorned with alphabet nursery wall hangings.  Should you not find the wall hangings (we couldn’t find them on the site), there are other options for wall hangings on the web or in retail stores.  Or, you could do alphabet nursery decals.  We think it would look cute to apply wall stickers or decals right along the top of the grey paint on the wall as a wall border.
