Texture, texture, texture! Decorating with texture is a simple way to add depth and vibrancy to your baby nursery decor like no other decorating technique can. How to decorate with texture you may ask?  No need to complicate matters. Find a few fun nursery accents that are “3D” in nature and that should do it. See a few of our favorite decorating with texture finds below.

Japanese lanterns and, more recently, ceiling pom poms are a fresh way to add texture to your baby room by way of gorgeously vibrant hangings. Poms are made of tissue paper and you can purchase them in craft stores or online including Martha Stewart Crafts. We not only love the whimsical look, but also the multitude of colors available. They are light and airy, yet structured enough to deliver compelling visuals.

We found this gorgeous custom blue-green textured baby bedding set which was the vision of this brilliant design-minded Rate-My-Space mom. Her embroiderer liked it so much that the set can now be purchased at Once Upon a Time in Birmingham, AL. (Note that the lovely blue-green paint in the nursery is Sherwin Williams “Quietude”). Using poms in a different way, note how little blue and green poms were sewn on the crib bumper and finished off with ribbons with slightly frayed edges. This techniques brings life to a baby bumper that makes it look like no other.

For pink “pop”, we adore this flourishing pink rose throw pillow designed by Etsy seller “bedbuggs“. Perfect to accent your glider, we love how the flower petals are piled on top of one another to bring the flower to life in a way that only texture can bring.

Finally, this simple yellow diamond crocheted throw blanket looks stunning against this white and yellow baby crib bedding set and light turquoise wall paint in the baby nursery decorated by Megan of Me&Wee. So chic. So modern. We “heart” it!
