Our New Waterproof Kids Labels for Camp, Pool, & Beach Gear

Summertime is just about here and we are so excited to announce the launch of our camp labels for kids! Don’t worry if your kid isn’t going to camp. These washable, waterproof personalized labels are great for all kinds of kids things like water bottles, sun glasses, pool toys, beach toys and more!

Our labels are washer and dryer safe when applied to clothing tags. You can even apply them to beach and pool towel tags.

When thinking about nursery lighting, it’s important to think about how your child will be affected by the light in his/her room. Pendant lighting, in particular, can add both functionality and great design to your baby’s room as there are many beautiful options to consider.

Since children are smaller than adults, they’re often going to be looking up at lights – either from the crib or from crawling on the floor. Given that, any pendant lights you have on the ceiling should have diffusers on the bottom. (Typically plastic/acrylic sheets on the bottom of the fixture that filter the light so the bulb doesn’t shine in anyone’s eyes). This is not such an issue with table lamps as the lampshade will cut the glare from most places, but it is an argument for considering smaller smaller fixtures to begin with. Note that tri-light bulbs (those that have a low, medium, and high setting) are also a good idea as well so you can have low light when you’re trying to set a mood at bedtime, and brighter light when you have tasks to do like changing diapers.

Many rooms already have an overhead light, and these lights can be great for lighting the entire room, in general, and for playtime.  I like how these stylish, hanging pendants are versatile enough to work well in a baby’s room as well as a teen’s room and in between.

A Modern, Neutral Nursery with weeDECOR Animal Wall Decals

Using weeDECOR Wall Decals to Embellish a Bookshelf in a Baby Room

Looking for a stylish and modern nursery with a touch of playfulness? You’ve found it! This Ohio couple is all about style and they used weeDECOR’s wall decals to add that touch of playfulness every nursery needs.

“We love our decals!”, the couple told weeDECOR. They further explained, “We used the decals on the half of the nursery without the crib. We went neutral with the color and decor because we weren’t sure if we were having a boy or a girl”.

For additional wall accents, they placed a hanging monkey and monkey with banana strategically in corners around the room and near the windows. Above their bookshelf, they placed a mama and baby elephant with a sweet little bird perched playfully on the elephant’s trunk.

Check out this FABULOUS nursery designed by Los Angeles mom of Ariella. Of course we are suckers for stunning wall decor and this nursery has it!

We are going ga-ga over the Moroccan stenciled wall pattern behind the white crib. We love how the pattern frames the crib bringing striking contrast to the room. Mom found the wall stencil pattern on Etsy and painted the wall first in a darker coral (Hopeful by Sherwin Williams) and then stenciled in the lighter color (Amour Pink by Sherwin Williams).

But, wait! There’s more. We love the ceiling poms that hang playfully over the nightstand in the corner. They bring levity to the room that might otherwise be weighed down by a lot of wood. Speaking of wood, how sweet are the wooden wall letters that sit upon the nightstand adding that personal touch?

Finally, the wall stencils are not to be outdone by the collection of wall frames Ariella’s mom collected, painted, and arranged into a visually appealing collage across from the crib. While the styles span styles such as antique, vintage, and modern as well as shapes like ovals, circles, squares and rectangles, painting the frames one color bring cohesion that soothes the eye.

An Eco-Friendly Blue Nursery Fit for a Baby Boy

We are loving the shade of blue wall paint in this nursery and were pleasantly surprised by two things. First, the wall treatment is not actually paint but a wall clay that was used to give this nursery the smoky blue hue you see here. Second, the clay has no VOCs and is made from 72% recycled content from stone quarries. Fabulous in two ways!

The nursery was the brain child of a team of designers for Healthy Home 2010, one the first designer showhouse’s of its kind to support sustainable interior design. In order to participate, showcase designers had to adhere to design guidelines that supported a “green” endeavor.

The fabulous smoky, blue walls were created by Keren Navarro, President of Twig and Feather, Inc, using a combination of American Clay’s reclaimed shell-based Marittimo clay plaster in Kentucky Moon and Wild Horse Smoke - all VOC free!

The other elements of the nursery are just as stunning and eco-friendly, including an area rug from Orley Shabahang, furniture from Q Collection, a glider from O Ecotextiles, window treatments from Hartman and Forbes, and lighting from Visual Comfort. All of these baby decor products are made from materials that are organic, 100% natural, recyclable, or otherwise sustainable.

We love the lifelike giraffe and the modern block print rug that gives this nursery both the classic and modern touches it needs to feel perfect.

Go gender-neutral with a jungle themed nursery.

This cute and cozy nursery is a great place to spend some time with your wee one

Lions and tigers and fun are found in these fabulous nurseries. From the bedding to the decals to the organization, a jungle-themed room gives parents loads of great decor options. Just add furniture and a baby and you’re all set!

This mom and dad created a gender-neutral nursery using a beautiful paint color, adorable bedding, and super-creative use of our wall decals. Mom and dad coated the walls with Benjamin Moore’s Country Green to give the room a soft, soothing feel. They outfitted the bed with Sleepin’ Safari bed cribbing from Land of Nod. With colorful animals appliqued on the quilt and bumper, this was a great choice that accents the wall color perfectly.

The piece de resistance in this nursery is the fantastic wall decor found over the crib. File this under…wall decals, they’re not just for walls anymore! Mom and dad created their own custom artwork featuring some of our favorite decals. A cuddly blue elephant starts the parade, followed by a stately giraffe and lion. A lumbering hippo and darling little turtle round out the animal train. Carefully placed on wooden canvases, these one-of-a-kind pieces are modern enough for the room and timeless enough to be passed down the the grandchildren. We are, once again, blown away by the creativity of moms and dads everywhere!

This New York City mom went with a jungle theme in her little boy’s nursery, and the results are incredible! Benjamin Moore’s Grey Cashmere blankets the wall and provides a lovely backdrop for that Ouef Sparrow crib in white. Minimalist bedding provides some leeway to jazz up the walls with adorable decals, and that’s just what mom did! She chose two complimentary decal designs to bring some fun to her little boy’s room. Mom used our safari wall decal mural to create a little parade across the wall. A handsome giraffe leads the way followed by his charming safari friends. It’s only appropriate that the turtle acts as the caboose in this animal train!  Mom chose to personalize her son’s room with out premium personalized monkey wall decal. We just love how that mischievous little monkey looks ready to drop in on the fun as well!

Mom tells us, “The Safari wall decals match perfectly with the furniture and the Cloud B Monkey Sleep Machine and Tiny Love Sweet Island Dreams mobile!  We love them and so does everyone else that’s come by to see it!” We couldn’t agree more! This is a great example of two great looks that look great together. Fantastic job, mom!

Of-the-moment color combination plus of-the-moment print = one gorgeous nursery

Let’s start with the walls, shall we? Two great trends come together in this gorgeous nursery. The choice of grey and white for the walls somehow manages to make the chevron print look more understated because it allows the yellow to truly stand out. We love that this mom and dad decided to go chevron on one wall only. It keeps the project manageable it you’re a do-it-yourselfer. There is something about that buttery yellow that softens the crisp lines of the chevron print. We’re swooning over here!

Here is another great example of a grey/yellow/white that incorporates chevron prints. This look is slightly more subtle, as the bold print is kept to the bedding only and the rest of the decor is clean and simple. The crib becomes a stunning focal point of this room, and it certainly deserves the spotlight! This crib bedding by Carousel Designs is absolutely adorable, and the trim on the crib skirt is the icing on the cake.

Chevron is the perfect backdrop for these cute critters.

Thinking of an animal-themed nursery? This wall decor we found on Etsy would make such a fabulous addition to your wee one’s room. Cute little critters seem to leap from a chevron background, and the color combinations are just perfect. Lined up above the crib, what baby wouldn’t want to gaze up at these fun prints? This is an easy, affordable way to add chevron to your nursery.

Make a statement with a chevron rug

Can’t forget the floors, can we? If you’re looking to add some drama to your nursery or kid’s room, this fun and funky rug might be the perfect find for you! The colors in this room are absolutely stunning. Who would have ever thought that a palette of turquoise, green, black, and white would produce such gorgeous results? The modern feel of the design elements here is the thread that ties all of the pieces together, and no individual piece seems to scream, “Look at me!”  This room is the embodiment of harmonious design.

Here is another fabulous example of a unique color combination coupled with beautiful prints. This mom and dad opted for a kinder, gentler chevron rug. White and pale aqua take turns making their way from top to bottom and the overall look is borderline subtle. Toss is some bright, contrasting colors via linens and wall decor and you have an amazing nursery that has it all! Love this!

Outfit your wee one in chevron.

Still hesitant about chevron? We know, we know. It’s bold, it can be wild, it’s not for everyone. If you can’t commit to the use of chevron in your nursery decor, how about a sleeper? Your little one will look absolutely fabulous in this chevron one-piece. Still not sold on chevron after a month or two? No worries, your baby will outgrow it before you can possibly tire of such a fun print.

We love the baby blue/salmon color combination here and the details on that daybed are just incredible.  As the eye travels upward, it is met with the lovely pale blue wall and then WOW! Big, bold salmon stripes sweep across the ceiling and draw due attention to that incredible chandelier. Yes, our necks hurt just thinking about the logistics of painting stripes on the ceiling but in this case? Totally worth it! Kudos to Krista Salmon, the designer of the room, of Kiki’s List.

Another glorious color combination!

Dark meets light in this unique nursery! These parents got clever with color and opted to keep the walls free of objects to make the ceiling the focal point of the room. We love how the marigold color in the bedding is picked up in the stripes. Taking a cue from the crib, this mom and dad contrasted dark with light on the walls to make a bold statement in their little one’s nursery.

While some people shy away from blue walls due to their darkening effect, this mom and dad embraced the blue and brightened up their son’s room by incorporating white stripes on the walls. Punctuated by unique accessories (that ceiling light! that crazy cool roman shade! the artwork), the result is a space that is tranquil yet fun, simple yet interesting.

Striped walls definitely add visual interest to a room, but they also have the powerful effect of creating dimension, as evidenced in this beautiful blue and white nursery. Mom and dad opted to keep opposing walls white and used stripes to create depth in the sleeping/changing area of the room. We love the pale blue accents sprinkled here and there (the drawer pulls, the chandelier), but the striped friend on the wall brought the biggest smiles. This might be the one baby who looks forward to diaper changes, just to giggle and grin at the striped friend who watches over the changing table.

Life’s a beach for this lucky little one! A nautical-themed nursery practically demands stripes of some sort, and these parents kept it subtle. Creamy beige and soft white strips take turns around the room while the wall decor brings the fun. We love how the beige curtains fall on the beige stripes so the pattern is not disrupted. That takes some planning and incredible attention to detail.

With a little practice, a little patience, and a LOT of painter’s tape, you can add interest, fun, and depth to your nursery or kid’s room. Striped walls are an inexpensive way to create a huge impact in your wee one’s space.
