Thinking for Three! A High-Design, Modern Nursery for Triplets

Designed for the San Francisco 2010 Decorator’s Showhouse. This nursery is a perfect example of how to get high-style, cool modern design without sacrificing the warmth you crave. The pristine white baby room for three oozes warm and cozy by strategically using texture throughout the room such as the fluffy white rugs underneath each crib and the shiny, satin ribbon bumper ties. The lines of the three modern cribs are softened by curves at the top and the what would otherwise be a stark, white crib is warmed with natural colored wood in light brown. The wood lining the bottom of the crib also helps to bring out the richness in color found in the hardwood floors. Decorating with animals bring a warming touch to the room as three little piglets – one for each triplet – sit on the window sill, a polar bear stands on the dresser, a little llama looks over one of the cribs, and a penguin sits in another. So cute! Other note-worthy elements in the room include the modern take on pull-out furniture in the form of a changing table.  The pull-out changing table keeps the room tidy without sacrificing the required function. And even though it is oh-so-modern, we can’t help but get that warm nostalgic feeling when we see pull-out furniture of times long past.
