Wow! Loving this Unique Nursery Shelving Idea May 09 2013

[caption id="attachment_4957" align="aligncenter" width="512" caption="Loving This Unique Nursery Storage Idea"]Loving This Unique Nursery Storage IdeaLoving This Unique Nursery Storage Idea[/caption] This combination of nursery shelves as a way to create a decorative wall piece and serve as a functional storage solution is simply too beautiful not to share. Simply Yvonne provides a stunning view of these cute shelves in her baby's nursery and we're oh-so-glad she did! A yellow-green tinged wall paint provides a neutral background for the bright white shelves, perfectly spaced to create a delightful montage of baby related eye-candy. Each of the gorgeous little dresses in and of themselves create visual interest, let alone the collection of frames and stuffed animals along the shelves. Your eyes catch sight of the gorgeous photography of her little one and the related mementos. Books, standing picture frames, a piggy bank and more make each shelf that much more interesting. We also love the lime green Japanese lantern peeking out from the ceiling above. If you have a small space or your baby's room lacks a closet, this is a great way to improvise without sacrificing any aesthetic. Thanks for the idea, Simply Yvonne! We go Bah-Bah over Sheep Nursery Décor April 19 2013

One of the sweetest classic themes in nursery décor is the quintessential little lamb. So classic. So perfect for your little one. We just couldn’t help taking notice of so many beautiful baby nurseries incorporating this theme! Aside from being simple and sweet, we appreciate the gender and color neutrality the sheep design element brings to a baby’s room. Since most sheep come in white, you can add almost any accent color of your liking. For example, see this lovely grey and white sheep themed nursery designed for Charlotte in Austin, TX. The rich, elegant furnishings from Restoration Hardware Baby and Child bring a classic touch to a relatively modern color scheme. For a bolder look, consider black and white sheep décor as highlighted by Joni Lay on BHG.com. Bold, black accents such as the lamp and dresser shown in this inspiration board can make quite an impact. And, babies are attracted to high contrast colors which make this nursery that much more attractive. [caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="480" caption="Baa Baa Black Sheep - Better Homes & Gardens"]black sheep nursery[/caption] For a softer, more classic look, see how entertaining and lifestyle expert Jenny Steffens Hobick used pale blue and classic lamb décor from Pottery Barn Kids to decorate her lamb themed baby room. We especially like the lamb rocker—just darling! [caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="483" caption="Emma's Nursery - Jenny Steffens Hobick"]lamb nursery[/caption] And, weeDECOR has several sheep wall decal designs to help augment your nursery décor. Our jumping sheep wall decal has three little sheep jumping over fences onto blades of grass. We also have a personalized sheep decal to make your baby’s nursery feel even more unique. Unique Design + Practical Functionality: Loving These Storage Ideas for Kids’ Rooms March 28 2013 1 Comment

Unique design with practical functionality is a match made in heaven, particularly when it comes to kids’ rooms. And what better place to apply this concept than storage? We looked around and found some fabulous kids storage ideas to help you create a one-of-a-kind look and reduce the clutter.

Sugar Crate Storage - Emma's DesignBlogg

Check out these sugar crates turned into rolling toy storage by design guru Emma of Emma’s DesignBlogg—so clever and so practical. We also like how these wire garden plant holders were converted into wall storage per Apartment Therapy. You can adjust how high to place them on the wall so that little hands can or cannot (depending on the items) reach them.

toy storage

And, for the DIYers out there, you can use curtains to bring order to a chaotic area. See how designer Caroline Gomez hung curtains to hide little clothes in a makeshift but oh-so-cute mini closet—perfect so that little hands can reach them. Great storage ideas need not be limited to the bedroom. We love this funky collection of wall hooks that can liven up a mud room or entry way. From Land of Nod, the colors are vibrant and the design modern which is sure to bring smiles to kids or adults.

Tin Can Storage - Elsie Marley

Finally, for organizing the playroom, check out this photo from Elsie Marley showing how you can use tin cans to organize crayons, pencils, markers, glue, and other art supplies. Though we can’t guarantee it, your kids might actually enjoy cleaning up with this set up in place.

Must See! This Striking Baby Nursery with Lime Green & Bright Orange does not Disappoint June 24 2012 3 Comments

As always, we asked mom where she found her inspiration and how she went about decorating her little one's room to get that stylish look she sought and that you may be seeking, too. Mom tells weeDECOR, "I suppose it started with the bedding. Trying to find baby bedding that is gender neutral and not standard pale green is challenging. I knew I wanted the room to be bright and fun, so when we found the lime green and bright orange bedding, I was thrilled. From there I spent countless hours searching the Internet looking at gender neutral nursery ideas.  When I came across a photo with polka dot wall decals on a ceiling on weeDECOR, it was just about re-creating the look in our home's existing color pallet. The fact that weeDECOR was willing to create the custom decals in the sizes, colours, and quantities I wanted was so incredibly helpful, and allowed me to add a few of our own ideas into the design above the moulding." We were so glad we could help mom with a version of our polka dot wall decals that she used near her ceiling. We love the variety of colors and circular shapes that border the room and create that wonderful, whimsical nursery feel. Mom painted the baby room walls with Benjamin Moore's "Ranchwood" and the trim in "Stone Brown". Her furniture is from West Coast Kids in Edmonton, Canada as is her glider, bedding and hanging wall art featuring a lion, monkey, and giraffe. Grandma added her personal touch by making the blanket hanging over the crib. Mom's wall decals are, of course, eco-friendly fabric nursery wall decals by weeDECOR. Mom selected our 6 foot whimsical tree wall decal, and surrounded it with our smiling giraffe, tiger, modern elephant, and lion wall decals. She created a gorgeous ceiling border with a custom version of our polka dot wall decals. Mom further told us, "After looking at so many rooms online, I thought the ones that looked the best used wall decals in a scene as opposed to just placing them on the wall. Additionally, I liked rooms that had different depths and textures on the walls. I felt they had more character. With that in mind, we searched for some jungle themed accessories and found the giraffe, lion and monkey. Now …. what to put above the change table????? The search continues... Thank you again for all your help. It was a pleasure working with weeDECOR. I especially loved it when I opened my package to find out you had sent me a few extra small decals to fill the space between the large decals I had ordered instead of just leaving the gaps blank. That was a nice touch." Thank you, mom, for sharing your gorgeous, modern nursery with our readers.

A Moroccan Wall Stencil Pattern with Vintage Touches Make this Nursery Shine March 26 2012 1 Comment

[caption id="attachment_4831" align="alignnone" width="553" caption="An Aqua and Coral Vintage Nursery with Gorgeous Patterned Walls"]Aqua and Coral Vintage Baby Nursery[/caption] [caption id="attachment_4832" align="alignnone" width="553" caption="Pretty Ceiling Poms Hang over a Nightstand"]Ceiling poms in a pink, coral, and aqua baby nursery[/caption] [caption id="attachment_4835" align="alignnone" width="553" caption="Antique Picture Frames Create Stunning Wall CandyAntique Picture Frames Create Stunning Wall Candy"]Antique Picture Frames Create Stunning Wall Candy[/caption] Check out this FABULOUS nursery designed by Los Angeles mom of Ariella. Of course we are suckers for stunning wall decor and this nursery has it! We are going ga-ga over the Moroccan stenciled wall pattern behind the white crib. We love how the pattern frames the crib bringing striking contrast to the room. Mom found the wall stencil pattern on Etsy and painted the wall first in a darker coral (Hopeful by Sherwin Williams) and then stenciled in the lighter color (Amour Pink by Sherwin Williams). But, wait! There's more. We love the ceiling poms that hang playfully over the nightstand in the corner. They bring levity to the room that might otherwise be weighed down by a lot of wood. Speaking of wood, how sweet are the wooden wall letters that sit upon the nightstand adding that personal touch? Finally, the wall stencils are not to be outdone by the collection of wall frames Ariella's mom collected, painted, and arranged into a visually appealing collage across from the crib. While the styles span styles such as antique, vintage, and modern as well as shapes like ovals, circles, squares and rectangles, painting the frames one color bring cohesion that soothes the eye. Head over to Project Nursery to get all the details on how mom put this nursery together. It's a Jungle in There! See These Inspiring Jungle Themed Nurseries. January 30 2012 3 Comments

[caption id="attachment_4771" align="alignnone" width="507" caption="Go gender-neutral with a jungle themed nursery."]animals.wall decals.nursery decor.[/caption] [caption id="attachment_4772" align="alignnone" width="427" caption="This cute and cozy nursery is a great place to spend some time with your wee one"]wall decals.nursery decor.animals[/caption] Lions and tigers and fun are found in these fabulous nurseries. From the bedding to the decals to the organization, a jungle-themed room gives parents loads of great decor options. Just add furniture and a baby and you're all set! This mom and dad created a gender-neutral nursery using a beautiful paint color, adorable bedding, and super-creative use of our wall decals. Mom and dad coated the walls with Benjamin Moore's Country Green to give the room a soft, soothing feel. They outfitted the bed with Sleepin' Safari bed cribbing from Land of Nod. With colorful animals appliqued on the quilt and bumper, this was a great choice that accents the wall color perfectly. The piece de resistance in this nursery is the fantastic wall decor found over the crib. File this under...wall decals, they're not just for walls anymore! Mom and dad created their own custom artwork featuring some of our favorite decals. A cuddly blue elephant starts the parade, followed by a stately giraffe and lion. A lumbering hippo and darling little turtle round out the animal train. Carefully placed on wooden canvases, these one-of-a-kind pieces are modern enough for the room and timeless enough to be passed down the the grandchildren. We are, once again, blown away by the creativity of moms and dads everywhere! [caption id="attachment_4774" align="alignnone" width="507" caption="Nathan's little buddy hangs around under his name."]personalized wall decal. monkey wall decal. jungle wall decal[/caption] [caption id="attachment_4775" align="alignnone" width="507" caption="A friendly animal parade stretches end-to-end over Nathan's crib."]animal themed nursery. jungle wall decals. animal wall decals.[/caption] This New York City mom went with a jungle theme in her little boy's nursery, and the results are incredible! Benjamin Moore's Grey Cashmere blankets the wall and provides a lovely backdrop for that Ouef Sparrow crib in white. Minimalist bedding provides some leeway to jazz up the walls with adorable decals, and that's just what mom did! She chose two complimentary decal designs to bring some fun to her little boy's room. Mom used our safari wall decal mural to create a little parade across the wall. A handsome giraffe leads the way followed by his charming safari friends. It's only appropriate that the turtle acts as the caboose in this animal train!  Mom chose to personalize her son's room with out premium personalized monkey wall decal. We just love how that mischievous little monkey looks ready to drop in on the fun as well! Mom tells us, "The Safari wall decals match perfectly with the furniture and the Cloud B Monkey Sleep Machine and Tiny Love Sweet Island Dreams mobile!  We love them and so does everyone else that's come by to see it!" We couldn't agree more! This is a great example of two great looks that look great together. Fantastic job, mom! See how other moms and dads decked out their nurseries with weeDECOR wall decals on our blog. You'll find more fantastic ideas for animal themed nurseries and much, much more.

Bring the Chic with Chevron in your Baby Nursery January 26 2012 1 Comment

I think we owe Missoni and Target a big "Thank You" for reminding all of us about the fabulousness that chevron has to offer in attire and decor. A little bold, a little zany, and totally unexpected, this print is popping up here, there, and everywhere thanks to a popularity boost of late. We've found some cute and creative ideas for moms and dads who wish to indulge in this latest trend. [caption id="attachment_4763" align="alignnone" width="540" caption="Of-the-moment color combination plus of-the-moment print = one gorgeous nursery"]chevron.nursery.wall[/caption] Let's start with the walls, shall we? Two great trends come together in this gorgeous nursery. The choice of grey and white for the walls somehow manages to make the chevron print look more understated because it allows the yellow to truly stand out. We love that this mom and dad decided to go chevron on one wall only. It keeps the project manageable it you're a do-it-yourselfer. There is something about that buttery yellow that softens the crisp lines of the chevron print. We're swooning over here! [caption id="attachment_4764" align="alignnone" width="507" caption="Chevron in the Crib"]crib bedding.chevron.yellow.grey[/caption] Here is another great example of a grey/yellow/white that incorporates chevron prints. This look is slightly more subtle, as the bold print is kept to the bedding only and the rest of the decor is clean and simple. The crib becomes a stunning focal point of this room, and it certainly deserves the spotlight! This crib bedding by Carousel Designs is absolutely adorable, and the trim on the crib skirt is the icing on the cake. [caption id="attachment_4765" align="alignnone" width="507" caption="Chevron is the perfect backdrop for these cute critters."]chevron.nursery.wall decor[/caption] Thinking of an animal-themed nursery? This wall decor we found on Etsy would make such a fabulous addition to your wee one's room. Cute little critters seem to leap from a chevron background, and the color combinations are just perfect. Lined up above the crib, what baby wouldn't want to gaze up at these fun prints? This is an easy, affordable way to add chevron to your nursery. [caption id="attachment_4766" align="alignnone" width="540" caption="Make a statement with a chevron rug"]Chevron rug.nursery decor[/caption] Can't forget the floors, can we? If you're looking to add some drama to your nursery or kid's room, this fun and funky rug might be the perfect find for you! The colors in this room are absolutely stunning. Who would have ever thought that a palette of turquoise, green, black, and white would produce such gorgeous results? The modern feel of the design elements here is the thread that ties all of the pieces together, and no individual piece seems to scream, "Look at me!"  This room is the embodiment of harmonious design. [caption id="attachment_4767" align="alignnone" width="507" caption="Interesting colors, interesting prints"]chevron.nursery.rug[/caption] Here is another fabulous example of a unique color combination coupled with beautiful prints. This mom and dad opted for a kinder, gentler chevron rug. White and pale aqua take turns making their way from top to bottom and the overall look is borderline subtle. Toss is some bright, contrasting colors via linens and wall decor and you have an amazing nursery that has it all! Love this! [caption id="attachment_4768" align="alignnone" width="507" caption="Outfit your wee one in chevron."]chevron.baby.clothes[/caption] Still hesitant about chevron? We know, we know. It's bold, it can be wild, it's not for everyone. If you can't commit to the use of chevron in your nursery decor, how about a sleeper? Your little one will look absolutely fabulous in this chevron one-piece. Still not sold on chevron after a month or two? No worries, your baby will outgrow it before you can possibly tire of such a fun print. We have so many ideas of both contemporary and traditional nursery decor on our blog. If you are looking for fabulous wall decals to accent the walls of your nursery or kid's room, heck out all that weeDECOR has to offer. For even more design inspiration, visit our Pinterest boards and prepare to be overloaded with fabulous ideas for your nursery or kid's room.

weeDECOR's Top Nursery Decorating Trends of 2011 December 25 2011

Curious? We were, too! So we tracked down the top trends in nursery decorating for 2011. See what we've found! 5. Minimalism [caption id="attachment_4740" align="alignnone" width="507" caption="This mom and dad create a simple and serene space for their little one."]nursery decor. nursery trends[/caption] A long-time favorite of urban dwellers, minimalistic décor has made its way to nurseries across the US. We’ve seen some absolutely stunning kids’ rooms that scream “serenity.” While minimalistic design may seem easy (just pick one or two things and keep it simple), it actually requires more thought, more research, and more precision. Parents who use this approach to nursery décor must pick from what can be an overwhelming amount of products in an effort to find that one piece of art, that one wall decal, that one piece of furniture to serve as the statement piece for the room. We all know how easy it is to get sucked into the 12-piece nursery bedding set! With a valance! And blanket! And nightlight! And rug! And drawer pulls! And on and on! By paring down to the basic essentials, accenting with one or two design elements and creatively using color, parents are creating refined, sophisticated nurseries for their babies. We particularly like this minimalist nursery we found on ChicCheapNursery. 4. Begging, Borrowing, & Stealing The popularity of Pinterest has absolutely exploded in 2011! This social discovery platform now boasts up to 3 million users, and once you spend an hour (or six!) on the site, it’s easy to see why people are gravitating to pinterest for design inspiration. Moms everywhere are able to “beg” for feedback, “borrow” a concept and modify it to make it their own, and “steal” creative and unique ideas of other crafty parents when designing their nurseries. Pinterest gives parents access to a world of clever, beautiful, and sometimes profound collections of images and tutorials. While you’re on the hunt, visit weeDECOR’s pinterest page to see some of our favorite finds. 3. Form, meet Function in these Darling Nightlights [caption id="attachment_4741" align="alignnone" width="277" caption="This tabletop giraffe nightlight would look fabulous in an animal-themed nursery."]nightlight[/caption] Nursery nighlights are a must for new parents! There is no better way to avoid fumbling around blindly for the burp cloth while keeping things on the dark side so that baby is compelled to go back to sleep after the feeding. This year, we have come across some absolutely adorable nightlights for nurseries. Gone are the days of the pitiful little plastic piece with exposed light bulb that is relegated to the corner of the room. Moms and dads are integrating decorative nightlights into their themed nurseries. The one above from Jonathan Adler is one of the cutest we’ve seen! This nightlight is more of a design element, and less of an afterthought. 2. Growth Charts [caption id="attachment_4742" align="alignnone" width="420" caption="Track your wee one's growth with our removable, reusable, growth chart wall decal."]growth charts. wall decals[/caption] Who is more surprised by the rate that children grow, the parents, or the kids themselves? It’s tough to make that call. Decorative growth charts are all the rage in nurseries and kids rooms this year because parents and children delight in having something tangible to track what is happening before their very eyes. In 2011, we’ve seen some unique variations on the standard paper-version of growth charts. At weeDECOR, we have an adorable collection of growth chart wall decals. Our designs are interactive, meaning the kids can take part in marking their height each year. Our friends over at Petite Lemon offer another interesting spin on this design element with their canvas growth charts. 1. Non-traditional paint colors [caption id="attachment_4743" align="alignnone" width="349" caption="This Canadian mom just said "no" to baby blue."][/caption] This year, we've seen a radical departure from overly babyish nurseries. Some parents are selecting furniture and design elements that grow with the child. So instead of completely revamping the room as the child ages, parents just switch out the accessories and leave the major features the same. One way to accomplish this look is through the use of non-traditional paint colors in the nursery. The nursery above features a sophisticated dove gray wall color. A Canadian mom enveloped her baby's nursery in Benjamin Moore's Collingwood OC-28, but incorporated some child-like accessories. The room doesn't scream "baby," but isn't overly mature, either. This mom, like many others this year, chose a paint color that will see her baby well into the teen years.

Not Much to Say But "Wow" - A Fabulously Modern Orange & Aqua Baby Room July 21 2011

That pretty much describes the words that came out of our mouths when we saw this fabulous modern orange and aqua nursery designed by a Massachusetts mom. Who can resist being pulled into this cheerful room? Baby may never want to come out! Mom tells us, "I didn't do a particular theme. I just wanted to focus on the color scheme of  turquoise/blue and orange. That's why I loved the owl tree decal - because the owls were blue and orange." We're so honored to be a part of this mom's fabulous nursery and so glad she was willing to share her decorating secrets. She tells weeDECOR, "The room was already painted and ready to go a year ago when we moved in. It's a minty green. We purchased the crib 5 years ago (Nurseryworks) as it was originally my daughter's. The bureau came from IKEA. I made the two hanging owl pictures out of heavy paper stock and framed them. We purchased the bedding at Target (Bacati Mod Sports baby bedding) because it contained my color scheme. The accent rug was from Target as well as the orange lamp. The curtains were purchased at Walmart.com. I decided to incorporate both colored window panels on the large window." She further explains, "I love how the crib is the focal point in the center of the room. The tree on the wall block contains pictures of my husband, daughter, a 3D picture of the baby and me. Those trees were the centerpieces at my shower (some blue, some orange). The hostess of the shower used the colors of the nursery as the shower theme and wanted to tie in my tree wall decal with real trees as centerpieces. I ordered the paper lanterns to add more pops of color through lunabazaar.com (about $2 each). Overall, it was pretty inexpensive to decorate." So modern, so classy, and so cost savvy - we love it! Thanks, mom, for sending in your photos. They make us smile! For more ideas on how to decorate with wall decals, see our other customer photos. A So Sweet, So Serene Gender Neutral Yellow Baby Room July 20 2011

[caption id="attachment_4475" align="alignnone" width="448" caption="A Gender Neutral Yellow Nursery with weeDECOR's Birds in a Tree Wall Decal"]A Gender Neutral Yellow Nursery with weeDECOR's Birds in a Tree Wall Sticker[/caption] [caption id="attachment_4476" align="alignnone" width="448" caption="A Yellow Nursery with weeDECOR Owl Wall Decals"]A Yellow Nursery with weeDECOR Owl Wall Stickers[/caption] [caption id="attachment_4478" align="alignnone" width="448" caption="Frog Wall Art in a Yellow Baby Room"]Frog Wall Art in a Yellow Baby Room[/caption] We can't help but smile when we see this yellow baby nursery decorated with our birds in a tree and owl branch wall decals. Sweet and serene is what we see and this Michigan family sees that, too. These parents tell us, "We get so many compliments from everyone who sees the nursery. The weedecor designs are so unique, and they really transformed our nursery from a relatively plain room into a fun, whimsical space!" That makes us smile even more! Mom and dad wanted baby's gender to be a surprise. So, they chose a lovely shade of yellow paint - Moon Dance by Behr. To keep with the sweet and serene feel, they went with pine colored baby furniture by Westwood Designs - specifically, Cypress Point line in Honey Pine. The parents knew they wanted wall decals and ordered our birds in a tree wall decal and owls on a branch.  Dad tells us, "I was so impressed by the quality of the decals. The material is durable and bounced back even when I accidentally pinched a corner here or there. The texture even seems to blend with the grain of the nursery walls: several people who walked into the nursery asked if we had painted on the designs! The tree was fun to assemble. It comes in several pieces to make it easy to apply, and you can't see any seams once it is on the wall. When I saw all the leaves, I thought it might be difficult to get the pattern to come out 'correctly' (not being particularly artistic myself), but it is designed to make any arrangement come out nicely without much effort at all. My wife and I had a lot of fun seeing the design come to life." For the finishing touches, these parents chose the double border rectangular rug in Antique Linen, from JC Penney, Clouds & Stars sheets in cream, and Tiddliwinks Cozy Dot Blue Dust Ruffle. Finally they hung an oh-so-cute frog wall canvas they found while vacationing in Santa Fe, NM and placed a sweet owl statue on a shelf in a corner also found in an art gallery in Santa Fe. Aqua and orange give you a gender neutral option as well as the choice to go vintage or modern. One of the things we love about this color palette is the perfect balance between the warmth of the orange and the coolness of the aqua. Both colors can also provide a richness of hues to give you the visual depth of color we adore. For example, Little Crown Interior designers Naomi Coe and Gerri Panebianco fused both contemporary and retro styles in Cruz’s orange and aqua baby room, creating balance in its color palette with the use of the rich chocolate brown. The ultimate eye-catcher in this nursery is the aqua wall with the personalized nursery wall art in orange and aqua spelling out Cruz’s name. The nursery features a custom made upholstered crib as its centrepiece, paired with a custom changing table and bookcase, both in rich chocolate brown. It was further accessorized with a giant stuffed giraffe peeking out from behind a stylishly modern chair. To accent your orange and aqua nursery, consider these fun finds to give that boost of color to your baby’s room: • Etsy designer Elana Rosa Design's orange and aqua nursery wall art depicting poofy flowers, perfect for a modern orange and aqua nursery. • Oilo's striped aqua pendant lighting. Handmade and custom produced, this pendant lamp brings a softer aqua to the room. • Etsy designer Little Sprout Creations' Tangerine Sunset orange baby mobile that you can place just above your baby’s crib or bed. The cascading circles will give your baby interesting color and shape to gaze upon. A Seattle Surprise! Our Nature Wall Decal Mural with Dad's Artistic Touch November 18 2010

Who do you think? Mom tells weeDECOR, “We love the weeDECOR nature wall mural in bright green and yellow". As always, we were delighted that our wall decals helped mom and dad with their nursery decorating and are honored to share artistic wall space with dad. Want this look? Soon-to-be mom gave us lots of detail on how she and dad decorated their baby’s room to serve as inspiration for your own nursery design. Since baby’s gender was going to be a surprise, mom and dad wanted to keep the room gender neutral, yet incorporate bright and bold colors for a clean, modern look. They purchased the “Alex” baby bedding set from Serena & Lily in white, lime green, and navy blue and coordinated with a navy glider from Best. Mom & dad tell us they like the eclectic look and found their crib and changing table at a consignment store (They also like “keeping it green” by giving beautiful furniture a new life). They added a shearling rug under the changing table for added texture and a plush surface more pleasing to the feet. The white dresser is a simple and stylish piece from Ikea. When it came to applying her wall decals, mom explained, "We have high ceilings in the baby’s room so we placed the tree “growing” out of the changing table and the birds soaring up the wall so baby has a lovely distraction during diaper time.  We stuck the standing bird wall decals near the ground where play time will be as he or she grows. The owls in the mural are perfectly playful and cheerful – such a smart look for a babies’ room!” To put the finishing touches on their nursery's wall decor, dad hand painted the watermelon and carrot pop wall art for a unique look and in hopes of inspiring baby to share her parents’ love for food. We’re guessing that won’t be a problem :) Thanks so much, mom and dad, for sharing your photos! Even more to love is the fact that her art is created with recycled papers, scraps, and earth-friendly inks. We really like her standout modern bird collection shown here in two styles – one of a modern wild flower garden and birds wall print in soft blues, muted browns, and soft reds and this too cute birds on a tree branch in soft blue made out of a paper collage. These modern wall décor pieces come in both 8”x10” and 11”x14” and would look lovely in your contemporary baby nursery. For your older tot, get her started early on her language skills with these language wall decor cards available in English, Spanish, Italian, Chinese, French, German, Swedish and Hebrew. Ms. Peragine uses a similar modern style of design of the birds, trees, and flowers in her wall prints to help teach your child Spanish numbers (who knew “buhos” was “owl” in Spanish? Extra credit for you!). The wall cards also come in nature and farm animal themes. They are created with recycled cardstock, soy ink, and packaged with biodegradable materials. Ms. Peragine founded Children Inspire Design to combine her passion for global design with her desire to teach children. Her line of stylish and culturally diverse wall art, wall cards, posters and stationary will make any little one’s room shine.  For other modern bird and nature wall décor for your baby nursery or kid’s room, see:  weeDECOR’s modern bird, tree, and owl wall decals Beautiful Do-It-Yourself Bird Wall Décor Tree Wall Décor in the Nursery

With so much personality, elephants are a natural way to bring life to your nursery and Pure & Honest Kids has a really cute selection of elephant wall decor. Elephant décor can stand on its own for a touch of whimsy here and there. Or, use elephant wall décor to accent a circus, safari, jungle, or zoo themed baby room. Take this collage-style gray elephant wall hanging by artist Maria Carluccio. It is a canvas, digital reproduction created by children’s wall art company, Oopsy daisy, in San Diego. The neutral grays and browns in this elephant wall print would work well for a gender neutral nursery or a baby room with modern decor. The canvas is stretched by hand over a wood frame with a decorative edge, so you don’t need a frame. With more of a playful, caricature look with red, green, and yellow rings, this elephant wall print would be a fun addition to a colorful and lively circus themed playroom. Imagine this cute elephant smiling down on children at play. This framed elephant wall print from Renditions by Reesa is printed on paper and mounted on a wood frame with distressed finish. You can coordinate with matching monkey and giraffe for a safari look. Or, try this whimsy elephant wall canvas also from Renditions by Reesa. An original design hand painted on 16" x 20" canvas, this hand painted elephant wall piece comes in modern orange, gray, and light blue that surround a traditional styled elephant. These colors are great for a modern baby boy’s room.  This elephant painting is a gallery wrapped canvas so you don’t need a frame. And, that we should! Green is the most popular color for decorating a nursery. It is versatile, timeless, and a reminder of how powerful one of the most common colors in nature is in bringing beauty to interior decorating. If you are going modern with your nursery, seek shades of green that have a bit of a yellow tint as today’s modern nursery décor reflects citrus shades not unlike these green children’s wall décor pieces from New Jersey-based BeBe Chic. These wall décor pieces will not only coordinate with your modern-colored green baby nursery, but are bursting with personality. For example, this "Blossom of Love" green tree wall hanging is a lovely, modern 20” wall canvas giclee print with gorgeous varying shades of green used for the leaves and scene. We love how the hearts are interpreted as flowers that colorfully decorate the tree and the ground like fallen rose petals – a beautiful wall hanging for your little girl’s room. For your baby boy’s green nursery , use this green frog themed wall hanging to embellish or to simply add a touch of fun to his room. The cute green frog sits on a lily pad surrounded by pretty stripes and polka dots in soft yellow, pale blue, and white. As a side note, we love the three-pronged color palette of citrus green, pale blue, and light yellow for a baby boy’s room. Finally, for a modern, gender neutral green nursery, consider green bird themed wall art.  These precious green chics are surrounded by modern illustrated flowers on a wall canvas that would look contemporary and stylish in a baby boy’s or girl’s room. These green wall décor pieces from Bebe Chic are sold at several baby retailers online including Tresstina. Bebe Chic also has stylish kids décor and baby gear such as bedding, lamps, and stroller liners. We never get tired of looking at fun and playful wall decor for kids which is why we love looking at designs from Trendy Peas.

Founded by creative lead Patricia Cancado and business lead Raquel Kohler, these design-minded moms in Norfolk, VA who have known each other since childhood couldn’t find modern nursery wall décor to decorate their babies' rooms at a price they liked. So after much searching, they decided to do it themselves starting Trendy Peas in an effort to bring us unique, contemporary baby décor style at an affordable price. Trendy Peas offers their design collection as wall prints, wall canvases, and wall decals as well as paper goods like baby announcements and stationery designed to please both parents and little ones.

Above are some highlights from their collection. Part of their safari line, this chic and contemporary “G is for Giraffe” safari themed wall print comes with coordinating “E is for elephant” and “D is for deer” wall prints. Their cleverly named “Animal Talk” category has a “hooting” owl or “tweeting” bird on a branch. And, their shapes collection has bright and vibrant geometric wall prints featuring circles and dots, triangles, and squares with which to decorate a cheerful gender neutral nursery.

They also have a new product line of beautiful fabric wall decals. This gorgeous large tree wall decal of modern design and modern eco-friendly materials is an abstract display with over-sized leaves, pretty green patterns, a striking gray trunk and a cute blue bird.  They also have a bird on a branch fabric wall decal.

Note that all of their wall art can be purchased as a wall canvas or a print. They also have a collection of wall prints that can be personalized with your child’s name.

Her collection of wall art for children covers the gamut of popular children’s themes and gorgeous nursery colors with that hand painted, unique touch. Her collection is vast, but one of the stand-outs is “Animal Kingdom”. This group of a color coordinated princess themed peacock, bird, hippo, and kitten radiates cheerfulness. The peacock piece is just stunning – a modern, yet playful take on a colorful, feathered peacock of aquas, pinks, greens, orange, and lavender. We like the color contrasts of the Aqua and Chocolate Wall Art Collection, also blending in the princess and prince theme with rich colored blue aquas and chocolate browns. Choose from a wall piece quoting “the Prince/Princess sleeps here” or an alphabet or numbers motif. The Safari Fun Wall Art Collection mixes animals and modern, muted colors perfect for a gender neutral or safari themed nursery. Decide from among Monkey on Green, Giraffe on Red, Lion on Blue, Zebra on Orange, Elephant on Yellow, and Cheetah on Pink depending on your color or animal preference. The Simple Boy Collection is of more classic colors and playful interpretations of train, boat, car, airplane, and tricycle wall art pieces in classic colored red, navy, and olive green. You can choose your canvas size (12x12 or 16x16) and coordinating hanging ribbon to complete the look. The first, “All a Twitter”, comes as a set of six wall canvases for moms looking to make a statement with their wall décor or seeking something less standard than a square or rectangle shaped wall canvas.  This modern and stylish layout would look great on a wall behind a crib or above a dresser.  Shown here in blue with pink butterflies, birds, and flowers on branches, the pieces also come in a primarily pink-colored palette. For a more abstract interpretation of bird wall art, this cherry-blossom themed bird wall piece uses whites and reds for a bit more “pop” and lovely broad brush strokes in muted colors to create a soft ambiance of birds playing among the cherry blossoms in their polka-dot, striped, and floral garb.  This wall canvas comes in either 24” x 18” or 30” x 40”. And, for a touch more whimsy, this “Umbrella Birdies” wall canvas reproduction depicts a delightful scene of red, white, and blue birds frolicking among ladybugs and butterflies in the spring rain accessorized with umbrellas and bird-sized rain boots.  This wall art piece measures 22” x 18”. Oopsy Daisy is well known for their one-of-a-kind nursery wall art, children’s wall décor, and other kid’s related decorative items.  They work with artists and designers from all over to find fabulous style.  What is even more fabulous is that fact they donate a portion of annual sales to charities that directly assist children including The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation, K.I.D.S, and ZERO TO THREE.  Find these pieces and other Oopsy Daisy children's wall art at Lollipop Kisses. During our frequent visits to her home years ago, my grandmother kept my sisters and I entertained with my mother’s childhood toys – particularly, her Barbie dolls.  At that time, I remember thinking of Barbie’s clothes as “old” as opposed to the more appropriate term “vintage”.  Memories of what I now view as a seemingly endless trunk of gorgeous evening gowns, beautiful wide-brimmed hats, and cute boy short swim suits made me smile upon finding these limited edition vintage Barbie wall prints from PoshTots. Eight in total, these signed and numbered wall prints feature Barbie in stylish haute couture outfits that would add elegant vintage decor to any baby girl nursery or girl's room.  Drawn by designer Robert Best, who you may have seen on Project Runway, choose a bobbed, red-headed vintage Barbie wall print in a blue, French provecale dress gown and long white gloves or a blond Ilona Barbie print in a knee-length white floral dress and matching wide-brimmed hat perfect for attending a tea party.  An especially beautiful Veronica Barbie wall print dressed in a sheek black evening gown lined at the bottom with fur (faux, of course) would also look lovely. You can get these Barbie wall prints with gold-leaf frames, made by Larson-Juhl, to complete your elegant, vintage look.  And, since vintage is in, your little girl may appreciate the “old” Barbie clothes more than you did as a child. Poshtots is offering free shipping on these vintage Barbie wall prints and other select nursery and children’s artwork through 2/28/10.

[caption id="attachment_1826" align="aligncenter" width="350" caption="Orange & Blue Floral Nursery Wall Hanging Accents"]Orange & Blue Floral Nursery Wall Hanging Accents[/caption] Not a DIYer, but strive to be?  Here are some clever personalized, “DIY” wall hangings for those of us less inclined DIYers who may just need a little help. Frame that Name allows you to select from multiple fonts, frames, and decorative accents to create that perfectly unique, personalized wall hanging for your baby nursery.  It’s DIY without the shopping and, better yet, without the mess.    Frame that Name’s personalized wall hangings are offered by baby products company Whispers of Joy. Started by mom, MJ, the way many companies get started – a lack of baby products on the market that she really liked, she used her inspiring “finding things to make better” attitude to create Whispers of Joy.  Her first product, Perfect Pacis pacifiers, evolved because she hated all the pacifiers out there.  Her Sort-n-Stash pockets for diaper bags zoomed out of her own sewing machine to help with that never ending mess in her diaper bag.  And, her Frame that Name products were a fun way to add personality to her nursery wall decor in a custom, coordinated way.  MJ strives to spread joy to others through her DIY creations, inspiring the do-it-yourselfer in all of us.  Lucky for us, she loves taking a crack at new products with her own craftiness.  Above is an example of a Frame Your Name wall hanging framing each letter of a child's name.  First, choose your frame from a selection of antique, black, white, silver, or light colored wood.  Then, provide your child’s name, select a hanging ribbon color, and choose one of her gorgeous color themes.  Two of our favorites are the pink, blue, and chocolate brown “Dainty Summers” and orange, blue, and white “Burst of Orange” shown above.  Finally, choose from fun embellishments like buttons, ribbons, and other doo-dads to make your design really unique.  And, voila – your own uniquely designed DIY personalized wall hanging for your wee one! MJ would be happy to help you with fonts, type style choices and pretty much anything else to help make your baby’s name wall hanging unique. Just let her know. Decorate with Dainty, Dancing Ballerina Wall Art & Decor for Baby Girls February 01 2010

[caption id="attachment_1804" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="Ballerina Wall Art for a Girl's Room"]Ballerina Wall Art for a Girl's Room[/caption] [caption id="attachment_1798" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="Pink Ballet Shoe Framed Wall Art for a Girl's Room"]Pink Ballet Shoe Framed Wall Art for a Girl's Room[/caption] [caption id="attachment_1808" align="aligncenter" width="308" caption="Chocolate Brown & Pink Ballerina Wall Decor"]Chocolate Brown & Pink Ballerina Wall Decor[/caption] The dainty, dancing, ballerina.  She brings back memories of a music box my grandmother had.  The little ballerina in a tutu pirouetted for what felt like hours to help me fall asleep.  It seems as if the classic ballerina will never, or should never, go out of style. It’s not necessary to go all out with a ballet themed room – unless you so desire – as the ballerina’s daintiness and delicateness is her strength.  Ballerina wall art, ballet wall décor, or maybe even a music box, is all you need to create dreams of dancing for your baby girl. The Frog and the Princess is an online luxury children’s boutique with a nice selection of ballet themed wall art and décor.  Wall hangings, clocks, growth charts, and more, they also have cute ballet sheets and ballerina bedding.  We like this tutu wall hanging hand painted on a 16"x20" canvas with a real ribbon. The ribbon adds very nice visual dimension.  The wall hanging is on a gallery wrapped canvas and can be hung with or without a frame.  For a daintier look, we’d recommend hanging it without the frame with a pretty pink or white ribbon. We also like this classic-styled ballet shoe wall hanging printed on 11"x15" paper. This one is finished with a hand crafted frame.  Choose from 6 framing options - 4 solid colors and 2 weathered wood frames that best match your girl’s room décor. But, our favorite is this chocolate brown and pink ballerina wall décor piece which serves the dual purpose of dainty ballet themed wall décor as well as a hair bow holder.  Measuring 40" long, this piece will look just as lovely on the wall with or without hair bows and can be personalized with your child's name.  The Frog and the Princess is offering 10% off all of their children’s wall art through February (discount taken at checkout) should any of these strike your fancy. Craving Something Sweet? Candy Wall Hangings for a Nursery or Kids Room January 29 2010

[caption id="attachment_1768" align="aligncenter" width="330" caption="Cupcake Themed Modern Wall Hangings for Kids' Rooms"]Cupcake Modern Wall Art for Kids Rooms[/caption] [caption id="attachment_1769" align="aligncenter" width="330" caption="Ice Cream Themed Modern Wall Hangings for Kids' Rooms"]Ice Cream Modern Wall Art for Kids' Rooms[/caption] [caption id="attachment_1770" align="aligncenter" width="330" caption="Candy Themed Modern Wall Hangings for Kids' Room"]Candy Themed Modern Wall Art for a Kids' Room[/caption] Your eyes will be satiated with these candy-themed wall hangings for your nursery or kid’s room designed by LexModern. Choose from delicious cupcake, ice cream cone, and wrapped candy wall hangings in yummy, nursery-friendly colors like bubble gum blue, cotton candy pink, chocolate brown, white marshmallow, and green lollipop.  Consider the pinks for a girly-girl's room or the browns, greens, and blues for a more gender neutral feel. Lex Modern was started by Melanie Philip and Lexton Young around the same time as their little Lexton was born. Melanie was seeking a way to have more "Mom" time and a creative outlet.  With a degree in interior design and a background in children's design, she came up with the concept of LexModern – modern wall art for kids – and they were on their way. Aside from sweets, LexModern has great owls, elephants, giraffes, and bicycle images and stylishly modern handprint kits to preserve the memories from your wee one’s baby days (cute for a baby footprint, too!) We also appreciate their cute “recycle” themed images encouraging your little one to be earth-friendly.  Many of their wall hangings can be personalized with your child’s name including the candy-themed wall hangings featured here.  Each of the cupcake, ice cream, and candy themed pieces come ready to hang on a 1.5" deep stretched canvas and are protected with an eco-friendly coating.  The wall hangings come in three sizes (13” x 13”, 19” x 19”, 31” x 31”). Charmingly Illustrated Lion, Cow, & Zebra Wall Prints for Kids January 26 2010

We like the mottled color design elements Kim uses in her wall prints.  Her use of this sponge paint-like techniques form an array colors that bring the soft, childlike feel we crave to her illustrations. Her "Z is for Zebra" wall print incorporates this element as the mottled colors of pink and white envelop her modern zebra caricature. The zebra is cute, in and of itself, and is punctuated with a modern font-styled Z for a fun interpretation of animals and the alphabet. Her “Moomy Love” pink, brown, and lavender cow wall print uses that same sponge paint-like style detailed with polka dots.  Perfect for a little girl’s room or nursery, the white-spotted mom and baby cows would add nice detail to a farm animal themed room. In her “Roar” lion wall print, Kim uses a similar polka dot motif but with more of a pure, illustrated style that lends itself to a sharper look.  “Roar” the lion also comes in super cute “Meow” the cat and “Woof” the dog if you are seeking other animal images.   Reasonably priced at $17 per wall print, it’s hard not to go wrong with these animal cuties.

You are not alone in this world.  The founders of French-based L'Affiche Moderne had the same problem and can help you find original kids wall art that that does not feel like it “belongs in your dentist’s waiting room”.  Even better, they can help you (and your wee one) with your French. L'Affiche Moderne is French for "The Modern Poster". The founders were inspired when they found many great books illustrated by talented artists, but were surprised when they couldn’t find comparably illustrated wall art for their kids.  Hence, L'Affiche Moderne was born with the vision of offering original and creative works by some of the best illustrators, graphic designers and photographers around the world at below art gallery prices. Their wall art selection has a vintage or retro bent, but an overall modern feel.  Their contemporary art selection for kids has both vibrant colors and neutral palettes as well as vintage-feeling illustrations that remind us of when we were kid’s ourselves. The concepts are sometimes very modern, sometimes funny, sometimes educational, and always beautiful. Examples above include a gorgeous around the world wall poster for a travel-themed kid’s room.  Penguins in Antarctica, elephants in India, pandas in China, and kangaroo in Australia are depicted in the vintage-styled work by children’s book illustrator Julie Mercier. This exclusive under-the-sea wall wall print illustration by French character illustrator Marion Billet features fish, turtle, sharks, and other sea creatures in a brightly-colored ocean world. If you are seeking something delightfully different, consider wall photography to add a unique feel. This photo of a doll in a garden by French photographer Cyril Auvity is precious fora little girl's room. Finally, our favorite is this French language wall poster from French graphic designer and illustrator Limoon designed to educate your child on common French words like “arebre” for tree, “un” for one, and “glace” for ice cream. You can purchase most of these and other wall art from L'Affiche Moderne in poster, mounted canvas, or framed print format and they ship to the US.  Keep in mind that all pieces are limited edition (300 prints in total) so they may not last.  As further incentive, L'Affiche Moderne is offering 25% off to weeDECOR readers now through February 7th.  Just enter coupon code weedecor at checkout. Au revoir!

Cute Custom Wooden Wall Letters Calling for your Creativity January 17 2010

[caption id="attachment_1675" align="aligncenter" width="326" caption="Brown & Pink Wooden Wall Letters "]Brown & Pink Wall Letters for a Girl's Room or Nursery[/caption] [caption id="attachment_1676" align="aligncenter" width="326" caption="Bright Lime Green Wooden Wall Letters"]Celery Green Wooden Wall Letters[/caption] [caption id="attachment_1677" align="aligncenter" width="311" caption="Pink, Orchid, Mint, & Baby Maize Wooden Wall Letters"]Pink, Lavender, Celery Green, & Blue Wooden Wall Letters[/caption] [caption id="attachment_1678" align="aligncenter" width="325" caption="White Wooden Wall Letters with Hunter Green Satin Ribbons"]White Wooden Wall Letters with Aqua Ribbons[/caption] Wall letters are a timeless classic in nursery and kid’s décor.  We like them because you are only limited by your own creativity – or what you can’t find on the Internet.  According to Oxford Dictionaries, there are at least one quarter of a million distinct words in the English language and we’re guessing that doesn’t include some legitimate kid-friendly wall words such as Bibbidi, Bobbidi, and Boo.  So, unleash your creativity and use wall letters to personalize your baby’s nursery with his/her name or monogram, to memorialize your favorite quote, to decorate with the alphabet, or to highlight inspirational words.  Family owned Alphabet Boutique specializes in creating custom, economically-priced, wooden hanging wall letters to help turn your creative wall word ideas into reality.  Their wall letters are ½” thick, giving you nice depth for the wall, and you can get them in heights ranging from 6 to 12 inches. Alphabet Boutique offers you over thirty paint colors for your wooden wall letters and covers the gamut of popular baby shades like pink, blue, and green as well as modern orange, chocolate brown, and sage. In addition to color and size, you can specify font and hanging options.  Choose from cute ribbons for hanging in satin, organza, gingham, or grosgrain fabrics in almost as many ribbon colors as paint. For a less ornate look that might work better in many boys’ rooms, you can choose simple brass hooks for your wall letter hangings. For the more daring, order unpainted wall letters.  It isn’t too hard to create decorative stripes that perfectly match the décor in your kid’s room.  All you need are your paint colors and a little painter’s tape.  Here’s how: 1) Start with a white primer.  2) Paint your wall letters in the color of your choice using an acrylic or latex based paint.  3) When they are completely dry (wait a couple days to be safe), use painter’s tape to create stripes across the wall letters taking care to wrap the painter’s tape around the entirety of the letter.  4) Paint around the painter’s tape and wait to dry. 5) Remove the painter’s tape. Voila - beautiful, striped wall letters for your child's room. See our other articles for more decorative wall letter ideas.

Decorating Nursery Walls with 3D Paintable Fish or Butterflies January 09 2010

[caption id="attachment_1619" align="aligncenter" width="314" caption="3D Butterfly Wall Decor for a Nursery or Kid's Room"]3D Butterfly Wall Decor for a Nursery or Kid's Room[/caption] Decorating your nursery walls with unique wall décor can really make your nursery shine.  That is why we search high and low to find ideas for great wall décor for our kid’s rooms.  Fortuitous for us and for you, we didn’t have to search for this one. This recommendation came from one of our readers.  These clever, 3D paintable wooden wall pieces for your nursery are called Wallters. They are geometric, wood pieces that when hung on your wall, add a third dimension giving you a unique way to make your nursery special. You may have seen Wallter's used on ABC's Extreme Makeover Home Edition or HGTV's Debbie Travis' Facelift. Use them to design a one-of-a-kind modern wall mural in your kid’s room.  The pieces can be nested within one another to create greater visual depth and interest.  How fun! These wall décor pieces come in a matte white primer finish and can be painted the color of your choosing. The company recommends using spray paint by either Montana Gold Paints or American Accents by RustOleum because of their color selection and ease of application. For a girl’s room, consider the vibrant butterfly Wallter’s.  For a pale palette, try Montana Gold’s basic colors in flamingo (light pink) and lilac (light purple). For a bolder palette, try their fuscia (bright pink), milka (bright purple), and baby blue (aqua). For a boy’s room, the fish Wallter's are super cute.  We recommend a bold color palette of baby blue (aqua), traffic yellow (bright yellow), and mandarin (orange) to create a 3D fish wall mural that makes it feel like you are swimming in the ocean. Wallter also has uniquely designed decorative wall mobiles and clever coat racks for the modern design lover. Wallter’s are made by the company Wallter, which was formerly known as Fold Bedding Company. Note that these wall décor pieces become a permanent fixture on the wall once applied.  The company counsels that if or when you want to remove it, there could be damage to the paint or wall itself. To purchase, you can order directly from their site or from a retailer near you.

Kerri Lee-Sensiba, owner and designer of Tree by Kerri Lee, prides herself on original baby gifts, nursery decor, and room accessories for children.  She describes her style as simple yet sophisticated, vintage-inspired yet modern.  Her products are handmade in a design studio along the Delaware River in New York.  Her wooden growth charts, featured above, are cleverly designed so that they can be folded at a hinge and closed with the turn of a latch of the wooden figure at the top.  Ta-Da!  Your growth chart is now stylish wall décor.  You can write directly on the wood with a marker and there's enough room to track the growth of more than one child.  The growth charts measure about 14 " at their widest point, 44" long when open, and 24" long when closed.  They sell for $84. For a girls’ room, choose from a bird or butterfly on a tree growth chart. For a boys rooms’, she has a cute green and yellow car growth chart on a traffic sign.  And, for a gender neutral themed kid's room, there is a darling blue and orange owl growth chart on a tree. We also like many of her other clever kids décor items such as the animal face clocks (blue bear, brown and orange monkey, and pink bunny) where the animals’ eyes are at 10 am and 2 pm.  And, her precious lamb and elephant asleep/awake door knob hangings would be a great baby gift for a mom-to-be decorating a nursery.

Jeeto is a Los Angeles based design company dedicated to creating contemporary-styled products that enrich environments through imagery and imagination. Inspired by pop art, vintage styles, and modernism, Jeeto’s iconography and imagery is indeed a contemporary art style all its own. The art canvases would not be out of place on the 4th Floor of the New York Museum of Modern Art (that is where works from famous modern artists like Andy Warhol and Jackson Pollock are displayed) as they has that vintage, pop art, illustration style. Choose modern art styles with classic nursery or kid’s room themes such as monkey, giraffe, princess, fire truck, ladybug, or hippo wall canvases. Jeeto also has some less common kid's room themed images such as surfing, camp site, and panda canvases.  The colors used in the art are also on the modern side as they favor blues, oranges, and greys. Each piece of kid's wall art is triple silk screened onto museum quality canvas and stretched onto 2.5" pine frames for hanging.  You can get them in either small (18” x 24” inches) or large (30” x 40” inches). In addition to modern wall hangings for kids, Jeeto has a line of infant and toddler clothing and water bottles.  They also have a unique line of patches, stickers, and clothing dedicated to communicating allergy awareness.  Use cute graphics with phrases like “no peanuts, please” or “glutton free” to adorn the t-shirts, backpack, and lunch box of your allergy laden child. And, we thought all that creativity was fueled by the Canadian spring water. Cici Art Factory wants to push the boundaries of children's room décor with inspiring and fresh paintings to help parents stimulate children's imaginations and activate rooms with thought-provoking art.  And, that they do. Among popular themes such as owls, bubbles, dinosaurs, and space, lies CiCi Factory Art's "Lotsa" collection.  And, we must say, there is lotsa cute going on!  These adorable painted wall hangings are simple, sweet, and modern.  Perfect for decorating a boy's or girl's room, the Lotsa collection comes in pink birds, green frogs, yellow chicks, and milk (the latter not featured here).  These are original paintings of repeating patterns and vibrant colors pleasing to big and little eyes alike.  The paintings are done with acrylic and ink and an 8" x 8"piece is $60. In addition, to the Lotsa painting collection, CiCi Factory Arts has giclee prints and cards in all your favorite children's room thematics such as dinosaurs and butterflies. Ms. Clay's most recent creations are her Pirate giclee print of beautiful ocean blues and and her Tea Party giclee print of precious pinks and greens. Should you be designing a nursery or kid's room, consider adorning your little girl's room with these beautiful pieces out of a fairy tale. The first piece we have selected tells the tale of a fairy dancing in her sunny garden among her butterfly, dragonfly, puppy, kitty, and bird friends.  This 3-dimensional kid’s artwork is handcrafted and hand painted with acrylics paint. The three wooden plaques are made of MDF wood, come ready to hang, and measure 24 x 16 inches each.  This wall art would serve as a statement making piece in your fairy princess's castle. Should you want something a bit more subtle, choose from among VaDaVelle's other wall art creations like this pink and green dragonfly or polka dot bug.  Measuring 12 x 12 inches, these pieces would look great in a little nook in the room like above a changing table. The vibrant colors of these pieces would work well with most of the traditional girls' room colors like pink, purple, and lavender.  VaDaVelle also has some gorgeous wooden wall letters in polka dot, striped and other kid-friendly patterns. So, have at it and decorate a room fit for a fairy princess with wonderful, whimsical, wall art from VaDaVelle! For other ideas on unique kids' wall art, see our other articles.

Mirror Mirror on the Wall. Stunning Wall Decor for the Small. November 03 2009

When we asked her why she said, "So it can tell me if I am pretty!" Ah, Disney princesses  - such a love-hate relationship we have with you! On a more practical note, using mirror wall decor to decorate a room adds both function and beauty.  Mirrors are a great way to make a small room seem bigger. The mirror's reflection gives the illusion of more space and the light bounces off the mirror to brighten the room. Because kids' rooms tend to be small, mirrors help quite a bit.  And, there's the added bonus that they are just plain fun for kids! We did a little sleuthing and found that PBTeens has expanded their mirror wall decor collection this past year giving us many more creative ways to decorate with mirrors. A few of our favorites include these butterfly mirrors made of acrylic (read: shatter-proof) that have a self-adhesive backing used in decorating the girl's room above.  We love how they have created a mirrored wall border with these cute little butterflies.  We also love the price ($19 for a set of 20)! They have a stunning wall flower mirror that can be used as a focal point for your room given its size (30 inches by 18.5 inches).  Note that this is actually a mirror and is not shatter-proof like the butterfly mirrors.  We particularly like the way the mirrors overlap to create a multi-dimensional wall piece. Finally, they have mirrored wall letters for personalizing a kid's room by spelling his or her name or monogram. Each letter is approimately 18 inches wide by 30 inches high so plan accordingly.  Namely, if your child has a long name, this could be too big to spell out a name. PBTeens has other designs such as hearts, polka dots, and other floral designs. So, while we may still consider a mirror as a gift for my niece, we have explicitly told her that she doesn't need a mirror to tell her whether she's pretty.  She already is. Oh, the Places You'll Go! Travel-Inspired Alphabet Animal Wall Decor November 02 2009

Her wall art is particularly intriguing as it is inspired by the places she'd like to visit - hence, our aptly titled article from the popular Dr. Seuss book  "Oh, The Places You'll Go!" We've chosen three wall prints to feature here.  The first, "C is for Camel", is a gorgeous camel silhouette drawing filled with a pattern inspired by Marrakesh, Morocco.  Moroccan style decor is a new trend in home decorating that you should consider for a baby nursery or kid's room due to its combination of earthy hues and bright, eye-popping colors like the purple, orange, and yellow colors in the camel. The Massachusetts themed W is for Whale wall print gets its inspiration from the lovely area of Cape Cod, known for its blues and grays.  Enhanced, with a paisley-like pattern with what can be seen as mini-bubbles blown by the whale. Finally, the E is for Elephant print is a bold combination of bright blue, orange, and purple inspired by the style of Thailand.  The Thai are famous for their bright-colored silks and dark wood furniture.  The style and color palette of this print is probably most appropriate for decorating a boy's room. Jennifer has designed a wall print line for the entire alphabet featuring more of our favorite nursery animals such as deer, bear, giraffes, and my personal favorite, "A is for Aardvark". The wall prints are printed on photo matte paper and measure 9"x9". They come unframed or framed for $25 and $50, respectively.
